Happy Presidents Day To Ya! Hope You Too Have The Day Off To Go Out And Find Some Good Stuff. I Myself Picked Up A Nice Set Of West Elm Dining Chairs. Status: Undecided

I spotted these chairs a couple of weeks ago on craigslist and kept forgetting to call about them on the weekends.  I finally got around to it this afternoon and was delighted to find that these six chairs just listed as office kitchen stuff (make offer) were in fact West Elm!

Yeah, somehow these Arne Jacobsen Series 7 style dining chairs sat unsold on craigslist for like three

or more weeks!  Actually, I know how it happened.  These were listed with a few other kitchen items

like a microwave, a table and coffee maker in the business / commercial section.  I troll there once in a

while in hopes of finding some really cool lobby furniture like a set of Barcelona or Wegner Shells for

cheap.  You never know!

The chairs are obviously reproductions.  They are West Elm and in nearly new condition.  I'm really

digging the bold graphic on the seat.  It's a shame they didn't print the backs as well.  I'm considering

trading these into our dining room in place of the Broyhill Brasilia chairs but I'm concerned that they just

aren't formal enough.  I'll pull the Brasilia chairs out and drop these in their place to see how they look...

probably take some pics to share with ya...and then make a decision.

If they don't work out, it's not like I'm wanting for a dining table to pair them up with.  And bonus, they

stack on top of each other so they don't take up much room in storage or in the shop or antique mall

booth!  West Elm seems to always offer a couple of graphic options as well as a few solid colors in this

chair, but these were purchased in '09 and this graphic is no longer available new.  It's like a retired

Fiesta color...it's worth more now, right?

So I hope you're having as good a three day weekend as I have so far.  I've picked up some other good

stuff that I'll have to share later.  I'm even considering taking a road trip out to Jefferson City to pick up a

couple choice items and of course troll the antique malls out that way.  It's been a little while since I've had

a chance to do so and there are a couple of nice ones out that way.  But that is a long day of driving so

we'll have to see how it goes.
