I spotted this lot of Witco whatnot languishing away in a couple of boxes at a flea market while on our road trip vacation.  It took a few minutes to even figure out what the puzzle made...and another bit of negotiation to get it for a reasonable price.

Savers Thrift Lot! Mr. M Found All Good Stuff At The Savers In Fairview Heights Last Sunday. Some Castle Silverware, A Royal Haeger Bowl And A Witco Owl. Status: Mini Haul!

Nothing like a little thrift haul to finish off a weekend.  Sunday we stopped by a couple of thrifts in Fairview Heights after scouring the antique mall.  The Goodwill yielded zilch but the Savers came through nicely!

Last week I picked up a sofa that was advertised on craigslist.  Turned out they were in the middle of an estate sale and this lamp was part of what was available.  No way was I going to leave it behind, right?!  I love Witco...I love retro lamps...anybody could see this was going to happen!

Last night, just before shutting down the old (nearly antique, by computer standards!) PC, I thought I might peruse C-list one last time before heading off to bed.  Good thing too, cuz this Adrian Pearsall biomorphic coffee table was a waitin' on me there!  I shot off an e-mail to the seller and shuffled off to sleepy town, hoping for the best.

I was at the new shop yesterday afternoon hanging some artwork when our first cash in hand buyer walked right in that front door.  I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure I sold the first item!  The Franciscan Salt and Pepper Shakers are officially Gone!  The buyer also gave the Drexel Profile dining set a good looking at and I expect it to be gone soon to as it's garnered quite a bit of interest lately.

I was at The Green Shag a few days ago delivering something or another to my booth but somehow failed to bring the Real camera.  And then I saw this: a quite large Witco sailing ship art piece.  Pics were being taken...proper camera or no.

Last Week Was Such A Whirlwind Of Gettings Ready For The Parking Lot Sale That I Forgot All About This Stash Of Wentzville Flea Market Loot! Status: Tiki Haul!

Not last Sunday, but the Sunday before that Nick (Armadillo), the Girlfriend and I met up with Mom-tomic and Aunty-tomic at the Wentzville Flea Market. I would have liked to get there a little earlier but we had gone to the Skyview Drive In the night before and stayed for both flicks. AND I still had to get a post done here! So getting up early was hard. Still, we got there at about 8am!

Guess What I Saw Down At The South County Antique Mall Today! Double Witco! Status: Still There / Left Behind.

I was super suprised to see some Witco action at one of our local antique malls today. Actually, for some reason, I'm always surprised to find Witco anywhere. Weird. This time the price is right between the piece I found at the flea market in Wentzville and the piece I found at the flea market in Belleville!

Got Up Early And Made My Way To The Belleville Flea Market This Morning. Status: Beautiful Day For A Flea.

It did get a little warm out today but not so much as to compare with the usual St. Louis mid summer super humid misery. Nope, it was just a taste of Summer. Speaking of taste, here's a little taste of the Belleville Flea Market!

It Is Unfortunate That I will Only Be Able To Bring Two Wagonloads Of Stuff To The Big Green Shag Parking Lot Sale. Status: Bursting At The Seams!

As you can see, it's right up to the door!  Lot's of this is project material that I've just not gotten to yet.  I'm hoping to get a few of those done in the next 16 days so as to offer them at the big Modtomic Lot Sale at the Green Shag Market.

I actually picked up this George Nelson "Ball Clock" reproduction (by Verichron) early last week when I took some time off work and made a quick stop at one of the two awesome antique malls on Big Bend rd.  Both often feature great Vintage Modern finds but I only had a couple of minutes to kill so I made a quick run through Treasure Aisle.  Lucky me, I found this clock at a reasonable price.

Got Out This Afternoon And Did A Little Shoppin' With The Girlfriend...Even Though It IS Cold And I GOT A Cold! Status: Brought Home BOXES Of Stuff!

...Three boxes of stuff to be exact.  Shoes, that is.  Spotted the Vans (I'm a child of the '80s, Vans are the coolest, hands down) and decided to pickup two pair since they were closeouts at $30 each pair.  Needed some cushy, comfy trainers for work since I'm on my feet ALL day, walk to places downtown to get my dinner and never use the elevators.  I hate coming home with achy feet so I splurged on the Adidas (also very cool. See: Run DMC) which were also closeout but still about $15 more than a single pair of the Vans.  "Shoes?", you say. "When did this become a clothing horse blog?!"

I finally gave in and removed the fabric backing / frame from this Witco art piece.  The backing was just too icky to use.  I've still got it so I can fix it up and put it all back together if later I decide too, but I'm digging the look without!

Be prepared to be overwhelmed with Vintage Modern goodness as soon as you walk through the front (side really) door! The shop seems much larger than the old place on Morgan Ford yet just as packed. The good news is that the large items are more accessible and aren't all stacked on top of each other (yet)!
