Wow! New Upholstery And Cleaned Up Frames...What A Difference! These Shelby Williams Gazelle Chairs Were In...Well, Let's Say Distressed Condition When I Brought Them Home. Thanks To Jeff's Mad Skills, They Look Fantastic Now! Status: Available!
Right, there was 11 before...but these chairs didn't upholster themselves. I traded Jeff (our awesome upholstery guy) 7 of the chairs for his efforts in sprucing up 4 for me. Everybody Happy!!!

Dang, See Those Leaves In The Grass? Yup, Summer Is Over Again And Fall Is Creeping In. So What Else Is Sitting There In The Grass? Why Those Are Peter Opsvik Ergonomic Chairs. Weird, Huh! Status: Already Gone.

Somehow Mr. M lucked into a FOUR day weekend. Unfortunately that first day (Friday) was cloudy and cool, but at least I found these fantastic teak Balans chairs, all in great condition. Their very pretty blue upholstery, contrasting against the beautiful teak frames made up for the otherwise dreary day.

Another Item Crossed Of My List. I Finally Found A Vintage Koch And Lowy Reading / Pharmacy Lamp! Not An Easy Find It Seems...Unless You're Looking In My Booth At The Time Machine Antique Mall. Status: Available.

I see tons of similar brass floor lamps at the thrift stores all the time, but a real Koch and Lowy? Not so much. This one turned up on craigslist and sat there for a few days before even I noticed it. Hard to believe I was the only one to notice it.

I'm Not Much Of A Morning Person But Sometimes Waking Early Can Really Pay Off. Being On Craigslist When This Pair Of Richard Schults / Knoll Outdoor Tables Popped Up Was Just Preparation Meeting Opportunity. Status: Available / Project.

These look a hot mess, but when you've done enough research into vintage modern design they are instantly recognizable as being a Knoll product designed by Richard Schultz. They are in fact the 1966 line of outdoor tables in aluminum with porcelain steel tops. Tables worth taking a second look at!

No, It's Not (As I Had Hoped So Hard For) A George Nelson Bubble Tension Pole Lamp, But Had Howard Miller Ever Produced A Tension Pole Lamp With A Nelson Bubble Shade...This Is Perhaps What It Would Have Looked Like. Status: Keeper.

We picked up this fantastic piece of lighting over the weekend at an estate sale that the Girlfriend had been made aware of through a friend. She actually spotted it first, but that's only because she went through the front door first.

I'm Such A Sucker For The Bicycles Of My Youth. I Only Actively Look For Mid Eighties BMX / Freestyle Bikes...But These 20" Schwinn Stingrays Were THE Bikes Of My First Years Of Personal Freedom. Status: Available.

It's pretty amazing that a Vintage 1978 kids bike is even still around much less still functional, but (except for a blown rear tire and tube) this one is probably ready for another 37 long years of service!

Haven't Been To The Green Shag Market In A Little While? There's Lots Of New Vendors And Amazing Treasures To Be Perused And Taken Home. I Dropped By Saturday And Took Tons Of Pics. Status: Ready And Waiting!

Wow! There's so much good stuff down at The Green Shag right now! If you've not been there in a little while you might not recognize the joint! New vendors are everywhere and lots of new items abound. So much that I ended up taking more than 30 pics!

The Girlfriend And I Picked Up This Great Jens Risom Compact Desk With Return Two Weeks Ago. It's Been Waiting In The Back Of Frank (The Focus Wagon) Until Now To Make It's Debut! Status: Gone.

It's not in perfect condition, but it's the real deal. And most of the Jens Risom desks that I've come across have been HUGE. This one's just about the perfect size for someone to use at home.

The Nashville Flea Didn't Yield Too Much Loot, But Then It Did Seem To Be Just A Larger Version Of The Fleas We Have Here At Home. Still, If There ARE Any Nice Vintage Modern Items To Be Had, Such As This Pair Of Sonneman Table Lamps...Mr. M Is Gonna Find It! Status: Gone.

I just dropped off this beautiful pair of Robert Sonneman / Kovacs bubble table lamps at The Green Shag Market today. Not something you expect to find at a flea market, but they look right at home in the booth!

We Stopped By The Treasure Aisle Antique Mall Last Saturday Just To Kill Some Time And Because We Hadn't Been In Quite A While, Not Expecting To Find A Bargain...Then This Happened. The Coolest Rya I've Seen In Ages! Status: Undecided.

If this was a larger size (it's about 3' X 5') I'd throw it under our dining table or in the living room but as it stands, I'm just not sure I've got a good place for it. That said, it's hard to let go of such a great Rya rug. These aren't exactly a dime a dozen!

Yee-Haw! It's Spring! Patio and Bar-B-Que Season Is Upon us. Yesterday I Picked Up ANOTHER Set Of Woodard Steel Mesh Organic Form Patio Chairs, But They Need Some Love. Status: Available.

Rusty gold? Like the American Pickers say? Maybe not. More like chippy paint silver. But they're in great structural condition...just needing seats and cushions. These appear to be an older version of the set that I featured here before.

Being From St. Louis And Seeing The Gateway Arch Every Day On My Way To Work, Mr. Modtomic Is A Big Fan Of Eero Saarinen. So When I Can Procure A Beautiful Set Of Knoll / Saarinen Armchairs I Of Course Jump At The Chance! Status: Available.

As office chairs go, the Eero Saarinen armchair is absolutely one of the most stylish choices, but just by looking at these chairs here on the innernets what you are missing is how seriously comfy these chairs are.

There's Something Magical About Finding Not Only A Matched Pair Of 3 Way Vintage Lamps But Also Their Matching Matched Pair Of Lamp Shades. That Was Kind Of A Mouth Full! Status: Gone!

Yeah, I KNOW! Number Four and Five! What? You haven't been keeping count? I have found three other lamp bases JUST like these, though none have had the original shades with them. One has already found a new home and the other two are waiting for new shades.

Mr. Modtomic Is Pretty Darn Good At A Few Things And One Of Them Is Finding A Bargain...Just About Anywhere. Example: Early Eames Fiberglass Armchair On Lounge Base Found In New Orleans. Status: Adopted

The Girlfriend, Mom-tomic and I all made our way down to Oak Street in New Orleans to have dinner at Jacques Imo's but once again (third try) found it to be closed. At least this time it was scheduled to open in about an hour. In the interim we took the opportunity to troll through some of the nearby shops and that's where this bad boy was found!

This Beautiful Trio Of Wheat Sheaf Hollywood Recency Living Room Tables Was An Interesting Craigslist Score. I Was Pretty Sure I Had Lost Out, Yet Here They Are! Status: Available.

I can safely say that I've never been so pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call from a craigslist seller as I was when I got that call from the seller of these. Usually if an ad has been pulled from the list, that's it. Sorry fella, you done missed out!

Our Good Friend Illuminate Nabbed This Collection Of Blue Heaven Dishes For Me A While Back And I Just Now Got Around To Unpackaging Them. It's An Unussual Set, But That's What You Get When You Shop Second Hand...Right?! Status: Collected.

Illuminate came by for our annual Nightmare Before Christmas party and brought with her 3 bags from the Goodwill. I remember her texting me about some Blue Heaven she had spotted at a thrift a while back but had forgotten all about it. What a strange "set".

Ahoy Matey! Yes It's The Middle Of Winter But It Be Fine Sailing Weather Were Ye Find These Splendid Syroco "Brass" Ships! Status: Available.

My first instinct was to paint these plastic sailboats by Syroco...well, that's not entirely true. My FIRST instinct was to leave them behind, but I thought better of it and grabbed them up. I thought it might be a good idea to have something really inexpensive in the booth down at the Green Shag Market and I'm sure somebody will appreciate the cut of their jibs...so to speak.

This Weekend We Found A Little Time For Some Goodwill Hunting And Mr. Modtomic Bagged Himself A Splendid Pair Of Matching Hexagon End Tables. Status: Almost Ready.

I haven't had time (actually, it's just either too cold or rainy out) to give these matching and somewhat intriguing end tables the cleaning they deserve. I may just have to do it in the booth as I did with the last set of Broyhill Sculptra that I had at Creve Coeur. It's not ideal, but it ain't gonna get done in the cold or rain!

Apparently There Was A Pair Of Overman Highback Swivel Armchairs Available At The St. Vincent Thrift, But The Other Had Already Been Snatched Up. I Was A Little Disappointed Until I Found Out This One Was Half Off! Status: Needs Some Feet / GONE.

This Overman lounge chair was just a lucky find. I had already picked up a large dining table and five dining chairs and did not anticipate having to find more room in the back of Frank for this! Did I mention that the furniture was half off this particular day?

Out And About Today To Pick Up Some Craigslist Goodies, I Stopped By A Couple Of Thrifts And Found This Cool Retro TV Lamp And A Weird Bit Of PC Electronica. Status: Strange Blog-fellows / lamp = GONE.

This vintage TV lamp really isn't Modern or Atomic...but it is Retro, and we do Retro around these here parts. The mysterious black box...well, it'd be a mystery then wouldn't it?
