Today We Managed To Create A Family Unit From A Pair Of Tall Black Porcelain Cats Found At The Flea Market And A Pair Of Small Black Kittens Found At The Antique Mall. Disparate Prices But All Were A Bargain. Status: Crazy Cat Guy.

DSCN3422

I really am turning into a "crazy cat guy", 'ceptn these cats aren't eating me out of house and home...plus they's so easy to clean up after!  I'm still on the hunt for some Royal Dux Bohemia kitters  but I have to say, finding all four of these today was quite a coup!

So What Kinda Stuff You Think Mr. Modtomic Will Have At The Big Green Shag Parking Lot Sale This Saturday? Status: Gonna Be An Interesting Weekend!

DSCN7541

Last weekend I took Friday off giving me a four day weekend....to Scour The Thrifts! My efforts yielded plenty of smalls for the sale this weekend as well as the mall space (Mr. Modtomic's Area 44? I-"44" roadside treasures?) that I will be trying to start the same weekend! Yikes!

New Shop In The Midwest Alert! Stop By And Partake Of The Vintage Modern Abundance. Status: Weekends Only...For Now.

DSCN5304

Mmmm...isn't this a tasty piece of vintage modern lounge chair beautificence?  By far this was my favorite piece to photograph as well as lust after down at Momoderne, one of the newest venues for us to drop some dosh on fabulous house bling here in St. Louis.  I just couldn't find a bad angle to shoot this from!  The only problem was getting a couple shots off before it got snatched up and taken home...things were moving fast at this inaugural sale.

Coolest Mod "Doll" House Ever? It Needs A Lil Work...And Some Furniture! Status: YeeHa! 500 Posts Today!

DSCN5046

I have a real hard time calling this a "Doll" house, but what else can it be called?  I found this DOLL house initially on eBay where it failed to sell, but I noticed that it was located in Springfield Il. only about a 120 miles from home.  I often check the craigslists of the periphery cities around St. Louis for good stuff and when this didn't sell on eBay it made it's way onto c-list.  A road trip was in order!

Oh Sweet Thrift Store Lighted Globe Scorage! Status: About As Sexy As A Model Of The Earth Can Be.

DSCN5007

Having taken the day of today proved VERY fruitful!  I had to go to the (True Value!) hardware store to (finally) get a lock set with a key for the garage door since we've never had one.  While I was out I of course had to do some rare weekday thrift scavenging!

One Of The Best Things About Thrift Stores Is Never Knowing What (If Anything!) You Are Going To Find When You Step Inside. Status: Something A Little Different.

DSCN4724

'Memba metal toys?  The kind that could do some serious damage if used "improperly".  Does Tonka still make their dump trucks in America?  I can't find any good info on dating these particular Tonkas but I'd place them at maybe early to mid '80s.  Not at all Modtomic but still a cool vintage(ish) thrift score!

Dang, I Almost Forgot About The Second Estate Sale On Saturday! Can't Believe This Was All Still There! Status: $20? Sold!

DSCN2905

Not too shabby a haul for one little sale!  Let's see...Five Dinner Plates (was a sixth but has a chip), a Platter and a Creamer all by Russel Wright / Stubenville for $20.  A cute little Porcelain Kitty Planter (?) for $1 (!).  A pair of Plastic "Skelgas" Advertising Salt and Pepper Shakers for $?? (dunno, they were for the Girlfriend).  And a Coctail Shaker with cut glass dots for $5.  Not...too...shabby.

I Wish I Could Schedule My "Thrift Score" Postings Like Most Everybody Else. It's Just Too Hard With Daily Posting. Status: Thrift Share Anyday!

DSCN2691

We were out doin' a little light car shoppin' this afternoon but STILL managed to do tiny bit of thrift shopping. I got a cool cork pen (and postit note?) holder plus another cheap swung glass vase (that's 3 so it's an official collection!).

Wanna Join Mr. Modtomic In "Picking" Through Another Antique Mall? Let's Take A Look Through The Spanish Street Mercantile Antique Mall! Status: Three Floors!

DSCN1705

This is another great antique shop in Cape Girardeau, right across the street from the Brick Street Antique Gallery. It seems to have a lot more "antiques" and perhaps caters more to someone looking for higher end turn of the century stuff, but there's always stuff for us. Sometimes you just have to suss it out. The sussing is half the fun!

With Great Furnishings Comes Great Responsibility. Even The Most Amazing Sofa Is Not An Island (well, unless it's in the middle of the room) and Needs That "Finishing Touch". Status: Just Hangin' Around (available!).

DSCN1144

Illuminate put me onto this sofa or mantle size print last Sunday (sorta). She had made a visit to the Goodwill in St. Charles and spotted it and says she immediately thought of me and that she would tell me all about it.

Some "New" Goodies that I Had Just Layin' 'Round Still in Bags! Status: Recently Seeing The Light Of Day.

DSCN8446

I think (Secondhand) Hannah mentioned something like this on her Blog. Or maybe it was just a conversation we had. I can't remember exactly, but it seems like I walk in the front door after a day Thrift Shopping and just drop the bags to get busy doing something else, then forget all about the bags for a few days!
