Posting (somewhat) DAILY from the fair city of St. Louis Mo! Keep up by subscribing! See the madness evolve before your very eyes! (Click The Pic Above To Go To The Main Page!)
No no, this King Size Brasilia Bookcase headboard isn't the said "Modified Brasilia"...I don't want to shock any delicate sensibilities so you'll have to click through to peruse THAT! Reader Jeff from KC was kind enough to share some photos of his personal Brasilia collection, one piece of which has been cleverly repurposed.
I don't really scour the KC craigslist very often anymore. That drive is pretty long so you know I must have found something pretty good to waste my whole day driving! Your assumption would be correct, but alas I didn't have time to take proper pics so this'll have to suffice.
I stumbled upon this video a couple hours ago and thought that I should share it with my lovely readership. I already knew that the switch to the Digital Projection Format would be an issue for smaller theaters but I'm pretty sure that All the small theaters in the St. Louis area have been able to make the expensive switch. Apparently there are other Drive In Theaters in need. Let's do what WE can to save the Drive In experience for the coming generations!
Click here to see all the ads this spammer is dropping in the Furniture By Owner section. Dealers like this have an entire section dedicated to them Because they were overloading the casual sellers and making craigslist useless. Please take a moment to Flag all this spammer's ads. It shouldn't take long and the more time this business gets flagged the easier it will be to flag the ads off. Flags are cumulative and never go away, but I bet if we make it difficult enough for this guy to keep ads up he'll go away!
We're back up in the North East this time. It took me a couple hours to put this all together and some of the ads might be a little bit older, but there is definitely some good and undervalued stuff up here in Baltimore. Let me know in the comments if you happen to snag any of these treasures!
We were hoping to keep enough time open on our little roadtrip vacation to get a chance to meet Dana of Mid2Mod.blogspot.com and her Son-In-Law who operates the shop Mid2Mod. It was an easy drive from Canton and, well...three days of walking around all day reeks havoc on a body, so having a few hours of lively conversation was a welcome change!
First of all, do you like this planter and stand? Is this something that you would want in your home? I know I do and will have more than one when they become available. Dan is also soon to be offering some fantastic steel "atomic" style wall art. Wanna see what it looks like? Click through my friend!
Last summer the Girlfriend and I had the pleasure of spending our summer vacation in the North East but we didn't get This far up! The Girlfriend actually used to live way up here for a while. I've never been. Maybe in a few years we'll make another trip this way and I'll get to see it all for myself. Until then, I'll just check out their craigslist!
Min in Philly requested a scouring of here local craigslist a few days ago HERE and I'm happy to oblige. Hope you find some good stuff in here Min that you can pick up after opening all your presents and cleaning up all the wrapping paper...that is, if you don't gorge yourself silly on Christmas dinner!
Houston TX was the last reader request for a "Not My Turf" scouring of craigslist. I'm always up for more requests, drop a comment here and when I get around to it I'll do my best to see if I can find ya some bargains!
Here we go again on another quest for vintage modern bargains in some far flung city that I (at least) will not be harvesting. With an estimated metropolitan area population of nearly a million people, certainly a few will find this little collection helpful. For the rest of us...read it and weep (maybe not "weep" but at least feel the sensation of envy).
So here we go yet again on another tour requested by a reader of a craigslist where in I cannot actually Purchase any of the cool items I stumble across. Torture, it is.
You see, Jeff shot me an e-mail this morning after reading the teaser at the end of yesterday's posting: "picked up yet another amazing item..." I'm guessing he spotted the same ad that appeared just after midnight 'cuz the title of the e-mail was "Falcon Chair?" Am I that transparent?! And so I sent him a reply saying, "What's a Falcon Chair? Some sort of throne you sit in with your bird of prey?" just to mess with him and so as to not let the cat out of the bag...so to speak.
There's plenty of easy to find vintage modern in Indy. Just plug in your key words and start clicking! These easy pickings are usually the pricier finds. I try to keep from utilizing those here but sometimes even THOSE can be a bargain. The only issue with those items is that they usually get snapped up pretty quick, but I'm gonna show a few anyway. If they are already gone, my apologies. If they aren't, you better not hem and haw over 'em, or they WILL be gone!
It's that time again. Time to see what can be found in another city at a bargain price on craigslist. This time it's the San Fransisco area. The Girlfriend and I have been out here twice in the last couple years and I know there's good stuff to be had. I managed to bring home an Overman pod chair and a Dorothy Schindele desk the summer we drove there and back, although they weren't craigslist finds.
I was going to go down the list of nominations in the order recieved since there weren't any "seconds" to the nominations for episodes of "Not My Turf"...but I got intrigued Grand Rapids Mi. and got sidetracked. I'll try to get around to everybody's nominated city but it might take a while! Thanks for all the suggestions! Now let's see what we can find in northern most major metropolitan city in Michigan.
I get a kick out of scrounging through craigslist to find great vintage modern buys that might get overlooked and I think you guys like to check it out too. Here's your chance to point me in the right direction. Sound off inside!
Two weeks ago it looked like it would be a perfect weekend to hit the Wentzville Flea Market. I awoke to my alarm and a thunder shower pummeling the flea market. Denied. Last weekend, illness. Denied. This weekend - we finally made it! And found almost nothing, just a few smalls for the Booth Space (44 @ The Green Shag Market). ::Sigh::
Today was a good day. What a way to end a pretty brutal July. Frank got a brand new windshield and Mr. Modtomic got a Paul McCobb secretary desk! The windshield is flawless but the secretary...well, come on inside and I'll show ya.
