Looking For Some Stylish Bargains In The Baltimore MD Region? Caryn R. Certainly Is! She Asked If I Could Take A Moment To Scrounge Through Her Neck Of The Woods To See If There Were Any Diamonds In The Rough. Let's Check Out What I Found, Shall We? Status: Not My Turf!
We're back up in the North East this time. It took me a couple hours to put this all together and some of the ads might be a little bit older, but there is definitely some good and undervalued stuff up here in Baltimore. Let me know in the comments if you happen to snag any of these treasures!
Vintage 1970s Orange Kettle Charcoal Grill - $60 (Baltimore, MD)
"This retro charcoal kettle grill from the 1970s has its original orange paint & is on wheels. It stands 39" tall & the grill is 22" in diameter. You will be the envy of all your neighbors when you throw your steaks on this grill!"
No Doubt! Except for the Ball-B-Que, this is probably the coolest, most Space Age looking grill I've ever almost wanted to drive to Baltimore to get! Bonus - It's Memorial Day (long) Weekend! It's like it was meant to be... Spooky.
Vintage Fridgidaire Oven and Stove - $75 (Fallston)
"Vintage Fridgidaire Oven and Stove. Features dual ovens with lift up doors. Ovens are sparkling clean. Pull out drawer has four burners. Drawer top and stove top have some rust. Plug in electric cord is missing. Super cool addition for those who love vintage. You haul. Best offer, Thanks."
Not mentioned in the ad anywhere, but this is a Flair. And it's a small one that I think can replace a standard size contemporary range. Still needs a cabinet to sit on though. We'd have one if they only came in Gas.
Table Wood Grain Formica - $40 (Randallstown)
"Table - Wood Grain Formica on a Wrought Iron Base. Approximately 29" x 59.5" (with 12" extender in place) Very Good Condition. Cash & Immediate Removal."
Now I understand that the ad makes no mention of the chairs but it would seem silly to picture them with the table if they aren't included...and it's the chairs that are they game here. Those are Pascoe chairs if I'm not mistaken! Often miss-attributed to Paul McCobb. And look in the background, there's what looks like a danish sofa and who knows what all else is in that basement!
Benny Linden Scan Dining Chairs - $200 (Annapolis)
"I have 4 Benny Linden Scan dining chairs with designer labels still attached. The 4 chairs are honey colored. I have 2 others without tags and cherry colored wood. They all need to be reupholstered but would be a really easy job with a staple gun. The frames are beautiful and with a bit of work these chairs would be amazing."
The "2 others without tags and cherry colored wood" chairs are Eric Buck, and correct me if I'm wrong but those look like Rosewood to me. High dollar pieces those, and hard to find as well. Please, go...snatch these up before someone beats you to them! Resell the Benny Linden chairs for the $200 and you've got a pair of free Rosewood Eric Buck dining chairs!
China 1950s Germany - $40 (Parkville)
"Beautiful very contemporary service for 10."
Setting for TEN for $40?!?! And look how cool they are! Be forewarned, you might end up like me...an AVID collector of dinnerware.
Vintage Chair Set (6) - $100 (Randallstown, Maryland)
"This is a set of six vintage chairs. I'm told that this style is in great demand. I'm selling the chairs for $$20 each or $100 for the set. Cash Only. All Sales are final."
Seems like I've seen these chairs before but I can't place them. They are striking don't you think and at that asking, how could you pass them up?
Glass Top Coffee Table - $60 (Pikesville)
"Glass top coffee table in good condition for sale. Cash only. You must pick up."
In general, I go by thickness of a glass top to judge quality, at least in c-list photos. This coffee table passes by a mile! What a great late '60s / early '70s Baughman-esque Mod statement piece. I'd so have it.
Ice Cream Table with Chairs for Sale - $100 (Westminster, MD)
"For sale is an ice cream table and two matching chairs. Have been in my family for quite awhile. Hoping to find them a good home. These pieces are generally great shape, some minor touches needed but not much. Asking $100 (If you have another price in mind I am glad to consider offers). Available for pickup immediately."
Two words / One name: Arthur Umanoff. Three more words: What a Bargain! Looks like they haven't painted over the original wood or twine wrapping which means an easy restore or just leave it as is for that worn in look. Go get it and get your Umanoff...On!
Retro Lamp - $30 (Westminster)
"Retro Lamp - Good Codition - Local Cash Only Sale."
It's an older ad. It might be gone already but if not, I'd go snatch it up quick. These danish style "rocket" lamps are hot right now.
RARE SOLID WALNUT CREDENZA - $150 (JOPPA MD)
"SOLID WALNUT CREDENZA GREAT SHAPE DATES BACK TO 1962. MUST BE SEEN TO APPRECIATED. UNIT IS 7 FT X 18"."
I don't know why they used all caps but you're gonna want something cool but understated...sublime, if you will...to put your big ol' flat panel TV on, right? This is so it. Looks like it might be a little dry and in want of some Howards feed and wax, but I bet it'll clean up beautifully.
