This fine accumulation of Ikea living room furniture has recently made it's way to my booth at The Antique Mall of Creve Coeur.  Can you believe I was able to fit all of this into the back of Frank?  Of course I didn't go crazy and try to close the hatch...but I might have been able too.

This Is The Second IKEA Sater Sofa That I've Been Able To Offer Up To You Fine Folks. Yeah Yeah, I Know. I'm Not A Big Fan Of IKEA, But (Appearently!) I Do Like These Leather Sofas. Am I A Hypocrite? Probably. ::Shrug:: Status: Already Gone.

We had planned to get out to the Wentzville flea market at about 8am Sunday morning, but a couple of things conspired against us.  One, well...we got up late.  Two, this IKEA Sater sofa suddenly became available to me at about 8am and it was located in the opposite direction of Wentzville.  Hustla's gotta do what a hustla's gotta do!

We Spotted This Blocky Red Coffee Table Out In "The Barn" At The Belleville Flea And At First Just Barely Gave It A Second Glance...But It Stuck With Me And Eventually I Had To Circle Back. Status: Surprise.

I've got so many sofas and chairs available at the moment that I just about can't pass up any interesting coffee table that crosses a Mr.'s path.  So yeah, I went back for this one.  My brain just kept saying "C'mon dude!  It's so Pop Art!"

What The What? Scaffolding? In The Booth At Creve Coeur? Am I Hanging Drywall Or Something? Neah! It's Just A Bunch Of Shelving Units That I Picked Up Today. Status: Bargain Necessities.

Once again, I had to get my tired butt up out of bed this morning at the crack of Nine O'clock.  This time to secure a nice lot of shelving units to further display smalls in the booth (#307) at the antique mall in Creve Coeur.

Back In Booth 307...It's Looking Pretty Filled Out Now, Don'cha Think? I Had Just Enough Time To Bring In And Tag Up A Car Load Of Goodies Today Before Work. By This Weekend I Should Have The Booth Even More Repleat With Vintage Modern Goodness. Status: Joy!

I found a nice line of craigslist paydirt this morning on the east side of the Mississippi and was able to fill the back (and top!) of Frank the Focus Wagon.  I got all that done early enough to then tool straight over to the Creve Coeur Antique Mall and drop some of it off in my booth / shop before work.

How Far Would You Drive And To Score What? Mr. Modtomic Has Been Known To Wander Far And Wide To Acquire Many A Treasure. How 'Bout You? Status: Curious.

Frank Roadtrip Reflection

Roadtrips must be in my blood. I've been to California three time and only flew there (against my better judgement) once. Every Spring and Summer the Girlfriend and I strike out toward parts unknown in the car, looking for adventure. Even the drive to Chicago from St. Louis, what would seem pretty boring, is actually quite nice...what with all the pretty windmills and usually a lovely sunset!

LÖVBACKEN LOVE

Hey guys. It's Nick from Mid-CenturyMidwest again.

I swear, Kate of Retro Rennovation and I didn't secretly conspire to post about the very same topic on the very same day. That's just the way things work out sometimes in the blogging world. Great minds think alike and all, right?

So, if you've read her post, you might already know that Ikea recently re-released the LÖVBACKEN, a veneer-topped side table that first appeared in their 1956 catalog as the LÖVET. You might also know that it was Ikea's first flat-pack piece, a move inspired by after Swedish designer Gillis Lundgren's attempts to fit a pre-assembled table into the back of his vehicle (I'd imagine that it was some small European hatchback), which resulted in the removal of its legs.

However, what you didn't see is a non-catalog photo of the actual table, and, as the fast food industry has taught us, sometimes the glamor shot and the real deal are miles apart.

Well, who in this Ikealess wasteland of St. Louis might have a LÖVBACKEN that we can check out?
