Wow! New Upholstery And Cleaned Up Frames...What A Difference! These Shelby Williams Gazelle Chairs Were In...Well, Let's Say Distressed Condition When I Brought Them Home. Thanks To Jeff's Mad Skills, They Look Fantastic Now! Status: Available!
Right, there was 11 before...but these chairs didn't upholster themselves. I traded Jeff (our awesome upholstery guy) 7 of the chairs for his efforts in sprucing up 4 for me. Everybody Happy!!!

This Last Weekend Was Absolutely Beautiful. Perfect Weather. Luckily I Had Taken Friday Off To Visit The Rutledge Missouri Flea Market And As Such Had A Three Day Ahead Of Me. Did I Score? You Bet! Status: New Stuff.

The first thing I purchased last weekend was a new set of wheels for Frank. Frank needed new tires BADLY (only real failing is he chews through tires) so I felt an upgrade was in order, wheel wise. These 16 inch wheels from a 2011 Ford Fiesta SES are a perfect fit and look pretty good. The tires are in better shape than what came off too! But I'm sure it's what I picked up at Rutledge that you're probably interested in.

Haven't Been To The Green Shag Market In A Little While? There's Lots Of New Vendors And Amazing Treasures To Be Perused And Taken Home. I Dropped By Saturday And Took Tons Of Pics. Status: Ready And Waiting!

Wow! There's so much good stuff down at The Green Shag right now! If you've not been there in a little while you might not recognize the joint! New vendors are everywhere and lots of new items abound. So much that I ended up taking more than 30 pics!

What A Pleasant Weekend (For The Most Part...There Was Some Rain) For The Flea Markets! We Managed To Hit TWO Last Sunday. There Is A New One In Town: The St. Louis Swap Meet. Status: Meh...So Far.

It's not much loot, but (sadly) it's better than what I found up North at the Olmsted County Gold Rush Antique Market And Flea! But this all came from 2 fleas here at home. The Wentzville and the new St. Louis Swap Meet.

If You Check My Twitter Feed You May Have Already Seen This Fine Pair Of Retro Armchairs. If Not, Check Out The Video Inside! Status: Gone.

I picked up a nice pair of vintage '50s vinyl and chrome armchairs last weekend and although it took me over a week to post them, I've already got them down at the booth in The Green Shag Market.

Out And About Today To Pick Up Some Craigslist Goodies, I Stopped By A Couple Of Thrifts And Found This Cool Retro TV Lamp And A Weird Bit Of PC Electronica. Status: Strange Blog-fellows / lamp = GONE.

This vintage TV lamp really isn't Modern or Atomic...but it is Retro, and we do Retro around these here parts. The mysterious black box...well, it'd be a mystery then wouldn't it?

Yeah, Christmas Is Still Ages Away...But When You Find Retro Seasonal Stuff, You Don't Look The Gift Horse In The Mouth. Status: Fa La La La La, In The Booth Real Soon.

It's no secret, Mr. Modtomic LOVES the Christmas Season. I love the decorations, the commercials, the snow, and most of all...the music! I don't normally make much of an effort to offer Christmas decor in my booths because it's so dang hard to find any that aren't just...antique-y.

Sorry I've Been Absent As Of Late. My Phone / Camera Has Been Given Me Da Blues. I Shoulda Shot This Quartite Table Lamp During The Day But The Best Laid Plans...And All That. Status: All Original And Available.

It's a lovely lamp. And it works as designed. Flip the switch...lumens emerge, unlike that little retro light I featured a couple days ago. It still needs to be fixed before I can let it go. This big beauty? It's ready to go!

I Stopped By The Green Shag Market Today To Pays The Rent And Drop Off Those Swag Lights (On A Day They're Actually Open!) And Since I Was There... Status: Other Vendors Stuff!

I had plans this afternoon so I didn't have time to drag out the coffee table I wanted to shoot. I really really wanted to get those swag lamps down to The Shag today and I had to drive way out to West County to do a pick up. That and traffic.

Ever Watch Mystery Science Theater 3000? This Really Cool Retro Swag Light Somehow Reminds Me Of The Opening Of That Show. Status: Available.

This is yet more lighting (albeit Mood lighting) from the clean out I did a few weeks ago. I brought home a total of four lights and still have two more to show ya. Doesn't that look like you're under water or sumpthin'?

What's On The Table For Today? Another Table. This Is Just Another Part Of The Lot That I Picked Up Over The (Long Arduous) Weekend. Between Storms Today I Was Able To Clean It Up And Get Some Shots. Status: Available.

I might not have normally picked up a table like this at an estate sale or thrift unless it was dirt cheap but I just couldn't bear the thought that it might have ended up in a dumpster. This literally was (with a few exceptions) an everything goes sale!

It's Been A Little Lean 'Round These Parts Lately. I Didn't Make It To The Flea The Weekend Before Last And Sunday Was Kind Of A Bust Too. At Least The Trifts Still Deliver. Found This Buffet Server Pot And A Nice Frankoma Teapot Over The Weekend. Status: Collected.

I haven't been scouring the thrifts lately and thus haven't been finding that much by way of goodies. Even so, I did manage to drag home a nice pair of pots - one "tea" and one "soup". Both in perfect condition!

Wanna See What $8.50 Got Mr. Modtomic At The Goodwill This Afternoon? No, It Wasn't An Epic Haul But Neither Was It Too Shabby For An Unscheduled Stop. Status: Satisfied.

You KNOW Mr. M cannot resist some silver fade Dorothy Thorpe style bar ware! The funny thing is, they were half the price of the "rocks" glasses I picked up too. Both the cashier and myself could do little more than twist our faces up In bemusement and shrugg.

Rack 'Em Up! We Might Slowly Be Falling Victim To The Digital Age, But I'm Betting That You, Just Like Mr. Modtomic And The Girlfriend, Still Have Lots Of Lovely Magazines Laying 'Round Your Joint. Get Yourself A Vintage Magazine Rack And Display 'Em In Style My Friend! Status: Available.

I didn't realize how many of these vintage modern magazine racks I've managed to procure as of late. Show here are just three of the maybe 8 or 10 total we have around the house. Many are actually in use, so it's not that embarrassing. I think though, it may be time to cull the herd.

How Many Times Have You Spotted A Lamp Like This At An Estate Sale Only To Find A NFS Tag On It?! At Least 'Round Here They LOVE To Keep These All To Themselves. Status: Availbable.

Makes sense. These are great for lighting a display of goodies at an estate sale. They also do the trick if you're just needing a little illumination to read by in your favorite nook.

Sunday's Visit To The Wentzville Flea Yeilded Some Interesting Results. Nothing Big Or Epic, But Some Pretty Cool Stuff None The Less. Status: Retro Smallsville!

The Wentzville flea has finally hit it's stride. The last two Sundays have been well attended by the vendors which is a big 180 from the few couple weekends we had previously seen. I still didn't find much, but I do find myself being a bit pickier these days.

Just Like Every Road Trip Vacation, I Had To Do A "Little" Shopping While Out And About. I Didn't Push It This Year Quite As Hard As Other Years, But I Did Find Some Cool Stuff Along The Way. Status: From Afar.

There's' ALWAYS good stuff to be had while on the road. Ya just gotta know where to look...and look hard. And ya gotta stop. Stopping is the hard part because it sucks up time. Time I'd rather be exploring and discovering.

Vacation 2014 Has Commenced. We Are On Our Way To The Great Open Skies Of The West / North West. Of Course, We're Starting By Heading North First But We'll Be Heading West Soon. Status: Little "Taste"!

We're on the road starting our vacation and we made it no further than about 40 miles up highway 55 toward Chicago (our first stop) when we HAD to pull off to partake of some soft serve served up out of a soft serve shaped soft serve shop! Sadly, this is it for the Twistee Treat post...the rest is a repost from last year, but it was a good one. Check it out! The Retro Palms.

I Almost Forgot That I "Snagged" A Couple Of Fish While At The Wentzville Flea Last Weekend. Good Thing It Was A Beautiful Day Since This Was The Entirety Of My Day's Take! Status: Not Geese!

You've no doubt seen Thousands of wall deco geese over the years, but how often do you see Swordfish?! I've actually got another pair of these that I scored many many years ago, but those may well be the only other pair I've ever seen.

What Could Make Smoking More Fun Than A Big Ol' Orange Hippo Ashtray?! No No...Smoking's Bad. BUT, This Would Be A Great Place To Store Your E-Cigs...Or Change Or Even Grow A Cute Little Plant! Status: Soon To Be Available.

When did Hippos become synonymous with smoking? Then again, how did a camel become a cartoon character luring children to buy cigarettes? And orange? Ah...the sixties...and hippies!
