More Small Scores From The Rutledge Flea In Northern Missouri...And I've Still Got Other Stuff To Show! Turns Out That Friday Might Not Be The Day To Attend. Saturday Had More Vendors. Status: Available.

It's both a beautifully sculpted piece of walnut AND a lovely religious figure.  I'm not a particularly religious fella but I just can't seem to resist modern religious art.  Go figure.  This piece and a terrific Russel Wright casserole made their way to the booth in The Time Machine Antique Mall recently.

More Loot From The Worlds Longest Flea Market: The 127 Corridor Yard Sale. This Russel Wright Pitcher And Vari-point Lead Sharpener Are Just Two More Of The Stash Of Smalls I Nabbed. Status: Soon To Be Tagged.

20140814_124816

I was REALLY hoping that I was going to be pulling into the driveway here at home on Sunday with a Focus wagon FILLED with awesome chairs, tables, lighting and such...but it just wasn't meant to be. Instead I'm having to be happy with a decent haul of smalls. I'm not disappointed but just a little underwhelmed. Still, compared to an average haul from the local fleas I did quite well!

Farm Fresh! Right Out Of The Flea Market Field. This Was The Third Russel Wright Samson Lawn Chair We Spotted Along The 127 Corridor Flea But The First With A Reasonable Price Tag. Status: Had.

20140813_123813

I don't normally involve myself with items that might be considered "rough", but I'm trying to expand my horizons!  My inclination is to strip this and repaint it....actually, it WAS to leave it behind, even though I can see the potential leaving it as is.

Hmmmm...I Thought I Had Another Teapot Like This Russel Wright Chartreuse Piece, But I Can't Confirm That, But I Know This Is My First Covered Casserole! Status: Tossed On The Pile.

News Flash!  Mr. M pays Retail for Russel Wright!  Yup, on the way home from Lebanon Mo. (to pick up the Umanoff wine cart) I stopped in a couple of the antique malls that litter Interstate 44.  This pair got me at the Great Midwest Antique Mall.

I'm Sorry!! This, The Blog And Work Are ALL I've Been Doing For The Last Week! But Looky, I'm Just About Done With This Space! Status: Open For Business.

20131212_145359

I told ya it wouldn't stay nice and pretty. I just HAD to put More Stuff in there! And I'm not done. I've got some more art to put up high on that back wall and some shelves to install on each side of the chrome and glass unit.

So Yeah, The Wentzville Sunday Flea Wasn't Exactly A Bust...But We've Been On Better Days. The St. Charles Antique Mall Turned Out To Be At Least As Good A Bet. Status: Dansk Day!

DSCN9973

After finding the candelabra and the blue lidded pot I thought out loud how cool it would be to find THREE Dansk items in one day.  Then I spotted the cheese board with integral knife!  What a great day!

Today I Had To Make My Monthly Ritual Sacrifice To The Might Green Shag. Yeah, Rent Was Due. While I Was There I Decided To See How The New Phone's Camera Would Fare Indoors. Status: Not Too Shabby!

20130807_130806

Like some sort of Super Magnet these two pieces of Franciscan Starburst drew me RIGHT to them. It's not like I need a Starburst teapot and platter...it's just that...I really do NEED that Starburst teapot and platter!

Rarely Do I Find An Item Wherein I Already Know The Designer...And I Already Know The Manufacturer...But Still Have No Idea What I Have! I've Got Three Unidentified Pieces Of Russel Wright For Ya To Scratch Your Head Over...Check 'Em Out. Status: Score/Mystery.

DSCN9857

Nick, the Girlfriends and I enjoyed a wonderful early Sunday morning last weekend at the Wentzville flea. None of us managed to snatch up anything like a Super Score but this little lot of Russel Wright Steubenville came kinda close. Well, close enough for me anyway!

So How Do You Think One Gets Cast On Market Warriors...'Cuz I Think I'd Clean Up On That Show! They Used To Have Guest "Warriors" On From Time To Time And I'd Love To Get A Chance To Prove My Flea Pickin' Chops. Status: More Wentzville Smalls.

DSCN9821

The challenge with that Market Warriors is that the contestants are buying from a flea market and selling at an auction...both places where people are hoping to buy low to flip high!  The mistake I see most is the contestants buying from high end focused sellers who really know their niche - to sell at auction TO high end focused sellers who really know their niche.  No wonder they rarely hit paydirt.

We Made It To Texas Last Night...Got Up Early And Have Already Started Filling The Car. Scores So Far. Status: Flea Mkt. Heaven!

DSCN2850

Sunset is my favorite part of the day.  Actually, the last hour of sunlight is what I love.  Photographers call it the "Golden Hour" and it's when you get that amazing light that travels through so much of the Earth's atmosphere that it heightens all the colors.  So of course I had to take a photo while driving.  Don't do this...ever.  But do click through and check out a couple of my Thursday First Monday Flea Market Scores!

What Do You Get When You Cross The Mild Geekery Of Star Trek Appreciation With The Mild Geekery Of Knowing Way Too Much About Vintage Modern Dinnerware? Status: OMG, I'm Such A Big Nerd.

So when I'm posting here on the ol' blog I've almost always got something playing on Netflix because we don't do cable and I'm up at stupid o'clock and there's nothing on broadcast TV. Not only is Netflix great because you can watch great televion (like Doc Martin, Top Gear and Sherlock...I guess I got a thing for the BBC) and movies (anybody else watch Sleepwalk With Me yet?) but you can back up and freeze frame when you see something (relatively speaking) cool.  So what do the two pictures above have in common?  Follow me through the break!

Did Ya Get A Pile Of Cash For The Holidays? The Green Shag Can Help Turn That Scratch Into Something Sweet! Status: Stocked.

DSCN2629

In case you've never been to The Green Shag Antique Mall in St. Louis, here's what you'll be looking for as you make your way down Manchester from the west!  Just find yourself a place to park and come on in.  I'm sure you'll find something to tickle your fancy.

Sorry I Missed My Post Yesterday. I've Been Charged With Running All Around Chicago From The Moment I Awoke This Morning Until JUST NOW. Tried Blogging From The Phone But That's A Tough Row To Hoe. Ever Seen THIS Russel Wright Dinnerware Pattern? Status: Left Behind.

IMG_20121124_140712

Yeah, I got totally high-jacked today. Seems that's how it goes when you're out of town visiting others. Your time is not your own. I haven't watched TV in Three Days. I NEED some serious down time. But it's not been Bad by any means, just overstimulating.

Separating The Wheat From The Chaff. Sometimes You Gotta Take The Good With The Bad. Status: Mixed Bag.

DSCN1515

After a fun but lack-luster outing at the Belleville Flea last Saturday we jetted over to a new(ish) thrift just across the street. I've already fallen for the place and have purchased something there every time I've stopped...and left behind a great console stereo that I really should bring home. This time the big score for the weekend was a big box of Russel Wright Steubenville American Modern dinnerware in Coral.

Had To Spend A Little Time In My Booth At The Green Shag Market Today...And Yesterday. Stuff Got Sold And There's Gonna Be A News Crew Shooting There Wednesday Morning! Status: Restocked...Again!

DSCN1466

...And since I was there and had some time on my hands I thought I'd shoot some pics of some of the other vendors wares. Things must going great for lots of the vendors because I see things disappearing regularly.

More Changes In Booth 44 At The Green Shag Antique Mall. Out With The Old - In With...Um, More Old. Satus: Things Is Movin'!

DSCN1252

I had to drop by the Green Shag Market again today to fill a void in Booth 44 as the Danish Style Leather and Bentwood Rocking Chair has found a new home.  Plus I wanted to post an update on the offerings since the Eames / Herman Miller dining table was made off with this week as well.

I Went To The Second Estate Sale Saturday With Hopes Of Scoring A Large Set Of Russel Wright But Came Home With Dorothy Thorpe Instead. Status: Fail Score.

DSCN1190

I had spotted a sizable set of Russel Wright Steubenville dinnerware all in grey at an estate sale Saturday that opened an hour after the sale where I picked up the Overman swivel recliner. I didn't waste any time at the first sale and got to the second sale about an 15 minutes before it started only to find I was picking up number 12. Hmmm.

Maybe The Coolest Thing I've Ever Seen At An Antique Mall. Wookie Head Mount Spotted In Indianapolis Indiana. Status: Weird-baka

DSCN0394

On the one hand, I kinda hope it's a mask....cuz a Wookie head trophy is just....not right.  Then again...putting a Wookie mask on is kind of...Hannibal Vader.  ::shudder::  But let us digress and take a walk around the Southport Antique Mall, Indianapolis Indiana.  There's lots of less questionable items to feast your eyes upon, promise!

More Vacation Retro Road Scores. Pickings From Far And Wide. Russel Wright, Ben Seibel, And Mr. Bill Curry. Status: Sausage Party.

DSCN1078

A missed turn on a two lane blacktop while coming home found us passing by an out of the way antique mall. Of course we had to stab the brakes, turn around and check the place out! This is how we find a lot of the cool joints we patronize...luck or accident. Depends on your point of view I guess!
