Some Recent Lighting Finds That I've Yet To Tag Up And Deliver To The Booths. Status: Cluttering The Foyer For The Moment.

Again, Mr. M was just plum tuckered out when he got home from work last night (remember, I'm a second shift worker) and just didn't have the wear with all to get a post done. But, since ain't much happ'nin' here at work today I'm taking the opportunity to get it done now! Alas, it's just a couple of lamps that I've picked up recently.

A Couple Weeks Ago The Girlfriend And I Spotted A New Thrift Not Too Far From The Crib But We Were Test Driving A Car At The Time. Last Weekend We Stopped In And Checked Out A Couple More In That 'Hood Scoring This Mod Pharmacy Style Floor Lamp. Status: New Traps

We stopped the new thrift we had spotted while test driving a new car a few weeks back and I almost bought a pair of Umanoff bar stools, but alas...there was another fella checkin' 'em out and I decided to let him have first dibs.  They needed a little help and I didn't need them badly.  It was the second second hand shop where I found this!

The Electricity Here At Home Is Out Due Apparently To A Little Wind So I'm Stuck Posting From My Crap Samsung Galaxy S III. This Thing Freezes Up All The Time Since The Latest System "Upgrade", But I Gotta Get My Post Out For My Peeps! This One's About Some Lights. Status: Finally!!!

First of all, let me just say...Samsung has REALLY dropped the ball where its phones are concerned. My phone "upgraded" its operating system about a month ago (didn't bother asking me permission) and the thing has been nothing but a pain in the @ss ever since. I took it back to Sprint who could do no more than reset it to factory specs (which for me included little more than erasing my pics, contacts and links) to no avail. The op sys is bad and Samsung has done nothing for weeks to fix it. I HIGHLY recommend never buying Samsung products since this is how they treat their customers. But anyway, got some new lights! Wanna check 'em out?

Ok, So This Has Nothing To Do With Vintage Modern, But It Does Have Plenty To Do With The Mr. Modtomic Blog! Today I Splurged On A New Laptop...Of Sorts. It's a Dell Convertible, And I've Been Waiting On This For Years! Status: Flip Flop.

Flip flop is right, I "waffled" on buying one of these for about the last Three or Four years!  Technology finally caught up to my wants and desires, a random junk mail ad from a local electronics store found its way into my span of attention and my hesitation was done for.

It's Like A Little Vintage Party Kit! Martini, Cheese, Fruit, Chianti...Just Add, Well, That Stuff, Some Friends And This Walnut, Stainless Steel And Tile Cutting Board Set! Status: Headed To The Booth.

More smalls from the weekend.  This cutting board set is in remarkable condition.  Except for a few edge chips in the tile (I think they might have been there when new) the entire set looks unused.  I find it astounding that the set is still complete.

After Loading Up A Craigs-find Sunday I Thought I'd Drop By The Goodwill On Cherokee Street...'Cept It Ain't A Goodwill, It's A Salvation Army. Not Open On Sunday, But Then I Found This Joint: Strange Overtones, Which Was A Bit Of Serendipitous Luck. Status: Gorgeous Goods..

I kind of accidentally found this place on Cherokee Street Sunday afternoon after failing to realize the thrift store I was hoping to pillage was, in fact...er, not open on Sundays.  Lucky me though, 'cuz this place is freakin' great!  Who needs a Restoration Hardware when you can get an eclectic mix of the Real Thing right down there on one of the most interesting boulevards in St. Louis.

Yup, I like seeing those "Sold" tags on stuff.  I came in this weekend to find FOUR of 'em on some sizable pieces.  You guys know how to put a big ol' grin on a Mister's mug!  Some of these items had JUST been dropped off!

Uh...I Don't Know. Maybe It's A Torture Device For Deer. Spotted While Out At The South County Antique Mall. But It's Just A Creepy Aside. Wanna See Who's Moving Into My Old Booth? Status: Update.

Yeah, that's a weird thing to find at an antique mall.  It looks like an Iron Maiden for poor hapless deer!  I'm guessing that it's actually a mold to make foam deer for archery target practice.  Or maybe really big deer candles.  But that's not what this post is about.  It's about my old booth # 195 at the Creve Coeur Antique Mall.

Once again, I had to get my tired butt up out of bed this morning at the crack of Nine O'clock.  This time to secure a nice lot of shelving units to further display smalls in the booth (#307) at the antique mall in Creve Coeur.

I Have Been Hoping To Find One Of These For Years! "A Slide Projector?" You Say...Not Just Any Slide Projector, An AUTOMATIC ADVANCE Slide Projector! Status: Party Entertainment!

I've already got two other slide projectors that I bought years ago...but, as it turned out, neither would automatically change the slides.  I was almost sure there was such a thing but had just never stumbled across one until Sunday afternoon.

Just In Time For Christmas! Something To Utterly Confuse Your Children With...A Phonograph! Hmmm...Some Of You Might Just Be Young Enough To Have Never Blown The Dust Off A 12 Inch LP Yourself. Status: Available.

C'mon, you know you wanna give your kid this Fisher Price record player and have the most ironically cool gift under the tree this year!  You'd get to be all cool like the guys in High Fidelity and explain to your lucky lucky offspring how these fragile, delicate vinyl discs actually contain the most accurate audio representation of music...and then get the eye roll of the true keepers of the cool.

Yup, they's available...just as soon as I can get a free moment to get them down to the booth!  Free moments are being less than entirely available lately though.  The Girlfriend is having an all girl party Friday and I have to clean the house (well, I have to evacuate all the antique mall over stock from the living room...and dining room.....and family room.......and kitchen).

These are quite cool, don't ya think!  I've already dropped them off at Booth 5 - The Green Shag Market.  Lots of stuff got shifted this weekend, so I had to stop by and fill the void.  Along with this Fab. pair of lamps the booth got filled with the Burke tulip style dining set featured a few days ago.

This little green thing is HEAVY!  Super Heavy!  All cast iron.  It's been making Frank drag his butt for a couple days now, but it's gonna be in the booth at "The Best Vintage Shop 2013" in St. Louis sometime Saturday afternoon (The Green Shag Market).

Wood-Burst Clock? I'm Down With That! This Was A Craigslist Find From A Couple Of Weeks Ago That Needed Some Attention And I Finally Got Around To That Today! Status: Hung.

This Roxhall "8 Day" key wound clock was another late evening craigslist snatching.  It was down in South County (which is exactly Opposite where I live!) so I was lucky that the seller was amenable to meeting me after work saving me an extra trip to the other side of "town"!

That's right, if shopping out on the blacktop parking lot gets a little too warm you can always take a few minutes to shop the indoor vendors.  Two and a half floors of climate controlled vintage shopping fun!

So If You Happended To Read My Twitter Feed (You...Do Read My Twitter Feed, Right?) Then You Already Know That The Girlfriend And I Got Out To The Wentzville Flea This Morning. It Wasn't Up To It's Usual Standards But I Did Manage To Pick Up This Kovacs Floor Lamp And A Few Other Choice Items. Status: Whew...It Got Warm.

The VERY first booth we looked in we found this lamp and even though the Wentzville flea wasn't up to snuff, this George Kovacs floor lamp score made the drive out there totally worth it!  Yes, it needs some serious clean up...and a bulb...but it's super cool looking.

Wow! I Stopped By The Green Shag Market Today To Drop Off This Spun Aluminum "Spider" Lamp And Found That Lots Of Stuff Was Gone! Mr. Modtomic Needs To Restock. Status: Started.

I just this afternoon dropped off this beautiful contemporary spun finish aluminum multi element adjustable floor lamp. Really, I just got this for some extra lighting in the booth, but it's got a tag on it!

Belleville Flea...It's Been Too Long! I've Missed You Ol' Buddy And It's Nice To Finally Hook Up Again. Feels Weird Going To A Flea On A Saturday Since I've Been Spending So Many Sundays At The Wentzville Flea. Status: Early To Rise Morning Trek.

Gosh, it HAS been a long time since I've sifted through the Belleville Il Flea Market.  I really can't recall when the last time I made it there was.  Well, since the Girlfriend goaded me into getting a new phone I now have a calendar function again and I will miss Thee no more!
