This stuff is so useful. I love my Goofoff...but this stuff is at Least as useful. The silver rim on this chip and dip set was kind of a mess but Bar Keepers Friend polished it right up.
We aren't very good at keeping the house picked up and sometimes we bring things in after a hunting / gathering trip and just drop the bags of goodies on the nearest open flat area. Not very grown up, but at least it provides for a nice surprise later on!
You KNOW Mr. M cannot resist some silver fade Dorothy Thorpe style bar ware! The funny thing is, they were half the price of the "rocks" glasses I picked up too. Both the cashier and myself could do little more than twist our faces up In bemusement and shrugg.
Yet another thrift / flea / yard sale haul. Some of this is already available, some will be available and some is four us. It's weird how I keep finding a few more bits and pieces from our 127 Corridor road trip. It's the road trip that keeps on giving!
This nice little haul of chrome rim bar ware came from two different sources along highway 127 but both sets were great bargains. I would normally keep (horde?) this stuff for my own bar collection, but I think I've got enough. Time to spread the wealth so these pieces are available in booth 307 at The Antique Mall of Creve Coeur.
I seem to have a weakness for Michael Lax as well as Dorothy Thorpe lately. Or maybe it's just shiny stuff, I don't know. These are just a couple of the smalls I've gathered over the last couple days.
Nothing here is a complete set. Bunch of Corning Ware Buffet lids and a Dorothy Thorpe dip bowl all found at the local Goodwill last weekend. You just never know when you're gonna find their counterparts, right?
Yeah, it was quite a day. I only got a few hours sleep after work and before jumping up outa bed to get a line number for the first estate sale, then rush over to another sale a few miles away to get a line number for that one too!
Nice barware scores, right? I just got the Dorothy Thorpe style silver rim flutes today. The Ruby Red chalices were a weekend find that I'm just now getting around to unwrapping.
We didn't get to spend too much time here at The Green Shag Market or at the De-Flea Market since really I had just stopped by to drop off a chair and a lamp in my booth. We took a quick look around the Animal Rescue support flea market and then hit the road for Belleville...then Springfield Il.!
First of all, sorry if you're getting sick of the Randolph Street Market flea. I just took SO many photos and they all seem to show a different facet of the flea's character and blah blah blah...really I just love that I was able to take so many good photos courtesy of the amazing wares and well curated vendors and I want to show you them All!
You'd think I save something special for a day like today. I just don't roll that way. Posting daily means I just don't have time to plan what I post about on say "Fridays". I would have liked to have had something really cool for today, but this little lot ain't nothing to sneeze at, right?
I was actually headed to a Goodwill in South County that I don't get to very often when I noticed a new Savers. I actually passed by it and had to do some creative driving to get back to it as the road was separated by a concrete divider. But where there's a thrift, there's a way.
Not long ago bloggers everywhere were using machines such as this IBM to spread their particular "word" via 'zines! With such a machine one could reach 10s of...well, readers. Thank God for the 1s and 0s we publish on today.
Isn't that a great shot of these glasses? I almost wanna use that or something like it for my next new header. So yeah, got lucky at the Goodwill and picked up this set of six flashy rocks glasses. I'll probably be dropping them in the booth (#5) at The Green Shag Market shortly.
I've still got to find the pad set and the retrieve the three leaves from Dan as soon as he's done with the poly on them, but the Broyhill drop leaf extension table is officially available! I've just managed to squeeze it into my booth at The Green Shag Market. Can you believe it...I've doubled my space, and I've already hit the limit!
Yep, Booth 44 got cleaned out. Sold everything. Just kidding. That would be crazy. But I did empty the joint today. And there will be a new vendor in here shortly. I can't say that I won't look back on our time together without a little sentimental sadness.
I try to keep some real bargains in the booth (44) at the antique mall so buyers will remember and make their way back to check their traps often. It's good for me, the Green Shag AND the buyers! Win - Win - Win!
While I was out running around yesterday I fell upon these fine china sandwich size plates. At first I found just four and began furiously looking for any other pieces to the set. Unfortunately I didn't find any dining plates or serving pieces...but I did find 20 more of the sandwich plates. Are you wondering why I'm even bothering with these plates yet? Look inside.
So, see anything ya like? Anything ya just gotta have? Except for the Texas Ware Confetti mixing bowl (the Girlfriends!) it's all up for grabs! I been busy as a lil' ol' bee making up tags and getting things boxed up for the Parking Lot Sale this Saturday.
