Oh My, What A Bee-You-Tee-Full Saturday! We Got Up Early(ish) To Hit The Belleville Flea But First Got Sidetracked Down At The Green Shag Market. Did You Happen To Stop By And Check Out The "De-Flea" Market Going On In The Parking Lot? Status: Perfect Day For It!
We didn't get to spend too much time here at The Green Shag Market or at the De-Flea Market since really I had just stopped by to drop off a chair and a lamp in my booth. We took a quick look around the Animal Rescue support flea market and then hit the road for Belleville...then Springfield Il.!
We picked up a few good items at the Belleville flea but there weren't any epic scores to be had.
Truth is, we didn't get up early and were out just for a nice flea stroll. I had plans to pick up a nice
score later in the day and if perhaps we found something else good...bonus! Here's some pics of
some of the good stuff we DIDN'T grab up. Some of the faves? Big juicy tomatoes, cool lamps, a
hand carved "Beverly Hills Wave", antique steam punk looking microscope, and a lovely silver fade
punchbowl.
After leaving Belleville for Springfield Il. we passed by the giant Catsup bottle in Collinsville Il.
Can you believe this was the first time I've ever seen this with my own eyes? It's not that far away,
I'd just never been on that stretch of hwy 159 before. It's pretty cool. I had to stop and snap a quick
pic for ya! Maybe I'll get back over here for the Horseradish Festival one of these years now too!
Some more of the crazy stuff we spotted at the Belleville Flea: I love the country-fied Pier One
"Orbit" rattan and steel chair, I almost bought the desk lamp to it's left, the tool cart to it's right
would make a great bar cart if cleaned up and re-painted, as hard as I looked I could find no nude
girls OR Georgia peaches and man do I want that train horn set for my car! We popped inside for a
quick lunch and checked all the vendors in there but really needed to get on the road for a craigslist
appointment I had set up earlier in the week. I'll show ya what I got both at the Belleville Flea
AND from Springfield craigslist later...stay tuned!
