Sorry 'Bout Not Getting This Out Earlier. Kinda Felt Ill Last Night. But At Least I Do Have Something Cool For Ya! Status: Modified Brasilia.
No no, this King Size Brasilia Bookcase headboard isn't the said "Modified Brasilia"...I don't want to shock any delicate sensibilities so you'll have to click through to peruse THAT! Reader Jeff from KC was kind enough to share some photos of his personal Brasilia collection, one piece of which has been cleverly repurposed.
Jeff says that he snatched each if these pieces off c-list for just $200. KC, like St. Louis, is
rife with bargains like these...you just have to be in the right place at the right time! I knew
of the King Bookcase headboard but have never seen one in the flesh, so to speak. The
small china cabinet is also a difficult to find piece and I got to say, I really like what Jeff has
done here. The 42" TV fits perfectly and the overall effect is that the cabinet looks like it was
meant for this!
What do you think? Is this a Triumph or a Travesty? Personally I'm not a fan of painted
Brasilia, but that's mostly because I've yet to see any that have been done to my particular
taste. I guess what I'm sayin' is that I don't really believe that Broyhill Premier pieces are so
precious that they can't be messed with a little.

I bought the china cabinet just for the credenza to use as my wife's lingerie dresser. It was either modify the hutch for the tv, or just get rid of it since I have no use for a hutch. I would NEVER paint a Brasilia piece! That's just wrong. If you ever to see one of these headboards, buy it! I've never seen another and are extremely rare. Thanks Mr.Modtomic!
