Today I Wanted To Just Play Around With Some Iconic Images That I'm Sure Most Of You Will Recognize. Status: Happy Monday?
And since I was messing around with editing software to stitch together the photos into the image inside, I thought I'd mess around with the one you see above. Taking these pics was loads of fun. Lot of work too.
For a while I was convinced that I had the same version of the Le Corbusier armchair that was featured
in the Maxell "Blown Away" ad of the early '80s. Then, well...I looked at the ad. Oops, nope. The chair
in the Maxell image is the Le Corbusier LC2 Armchair, where as I am the proud owner of a pair of Le
Corbusier LC3 Grand Confort reproductions. Meh, close enough!
Dang, wrong chair again! Still, very close. I've always wanted a swivel reclining Herman Miller shell
armchair. I was lucky enough to pick one over the weekend. I don't have a vintage '50s grey linen
suit but I do have a vintage grey '70s suit. And a pipe...are you kidding? But a cell phone is just as
addictive, so that'll have to do! I just wish I had gotten a haircut and cleaned up my poke chops
before deciding to do this shoot. Oh well, that's neither here nor there. Whatcha think about my lil'
Icon Tribute?

So that is what you look like. You should replace the picture with yours.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun photoshoot!
ReplyDeletePS: You and my husband have the same chops. Nice!
Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteLOVE these! Nice to finally see you Mr. M! :)
ReplyDeleteI was watching an episode of Fringe at lunch and there's a scene with Walter sitting low in a Le Corbusier chair in front of a bank of speakers listening to Mozart's Requiem. I took a screen shot but I see that I can't post a pic. Funny how you start to notice little references after they're brought to your attention. Later in the episode, I was noticing some really cool bar glasses that I would love to own!
