Not For the Arachnophobic! Classic "Spider Leg" Mid Century Modern Side Table. Status: Available.

The great thing about these tables: they not only look great but they can be easily stored in a closet! Pull it out and "bam" instant table!

I found this table at the St. Charles antique mall yesterday when I stopped there

after going to pick up a table I found on Craigslist. This was so cheap that I just

had to bring it home with me too. Like I NEED another table. Whatevs and stuff.

I've already listed it on my ads, but if I don't sell it right away I'm going to buy an

oval glass top for it and put it next to the Black Leather Thayer Coggins Sofa.

They'll look sooo good together.

Funny thing is, I don't know if I've ever seen an oval one like this before. I know

Hannah has a round one. I've seen plenty of round ones, but I can't recall ever

seeing an oval one. Not that I think it's super rare or anything.

It's unfortunate that someone left maybe a plant on this table that leaked a little

water and discolored the brass in the middle. I'm torn as to whether or not I should

clean the brass. I think the lazy man in me is probably going to win this argument.

The hand hammered brass platter has some pretty great images on it. Check out

the weird "deer with bird head"! Way to freak people out. I'm thinking these tables

are Indian, what do you think. Somehow they just work so well in the Mid Century

aesthetic.

Anybody have an idea what the symbol(s) in the middle might represent? It looks

Chinese to me but what do I know.

    1. Thanks for the link. The funny thing is, I have an oval spider leg mid century tea table, and I thought that's what this post was about.

  5. obxded - Sorry, this particular table is loooong gone but you can find other good stuff on my craigslist ads. Just look in the upper right corner of this (or any Mr. Modtomic!) page for the link.
