Brrrr...we here in the St. Louis area are scheduled to receive yet ANOTHER winter storm over the next three days. Yep, 3 DAYS! Up to another foot of the fluffy stuff.
The evening went pretty much as planned. Arrived early enough to be there before any sane individual. Sat in the car until bored. Jumped out and pissed off the second person to arrive. Froze until morning.
If this posts, then I didn't come home and I'm waiting outside an estate sale starting at 10am Friday morning. What would make Mr. Modtomic sit outside in the dark all night?
Sorry for the tease. I don't have a needle so we can't have a record playin' party. Unless of course you don't mind playing 'em on my modern Numark DJ turntable!
I was poking around RetroRenovation.com today and was inspired by Pam's posting about a light fixture she spotted at an Estate Sale. I decided to drag out some pics from some of the estate sales that I've been to in the past.
Seems like I've seen a bazillion of tables like these in the past and I never paid much attention to the attribution...and of course now I can't find a comparable to save my life. Ain't that just the way it goes?
I've always wondered who Suma was. I'm just glad I found some of their art at the thrift store. I almost sold this once. The Girlfriend put the Kibosh on that!
Sorry for the downer post. We had to put our little bundle of love down yesterday. I've put together a little "tribute" video of some cute pics I had of him.
Got it at the Goodwill quite a while back. Just another pan set to ad to my vintage kitchenware collection. It was covered in dried Bar-B-Que Sauce. At least I think it was Bar-B-Que sauce! I hope it was.
Picked up this amazing vintage modern sewing machine a few years ago. It was lookin' all sad and lonely at the Goodwill down the street just beggin' to be taken home.
Update! 01/07/11 High Resolution Video replaced Lo Res Video! Check it out!
Another diamond in the rough! This is pretty typical of the Antique Malls here in the "fly over's". Unlike BAM in Chicago, you gotta dig a little to find those gems.
