Not Much Happening Around Casa Modtomic...So I'll Just Have To Bore You With Another Look Around Another City's Craigslist. This Time Fayetteville Arkansas. Status: Not My Turf!

Downtown on Dickson

I noticed yesterday that fantastic designer Emily Henderson had posted her version of a Masdison craigslist scavenger too!  In the comments Laura asked if Emily might sift through Fayetteville Arkansas' craigslist and since I didn't have anything else to blog about...Oh, and there don't seem to be any "Greetings From" postcards out there on Flickr.

Set of 4 (four) Danish Modern Dining Chairs - $175 (Bella Vista)

"Four beautifully designed Danish Modern dining chairs. Currently covered in white vinyl, but could easily be recovered. Also selling a solid hardwood pedestal dining table (seats four) for $300. Asking $175 for the chairs."

-- What a bargain!  Anybody got an ID on these?

nice area rug - $100 (Eureka Springs)

"4.5 X 6.6 Excellent shape. Found rolled up in the top of a closet.
Perfect for any room or even the wall. asking 100.00"

 -- I don't know...does that look vintage to anybody else?  I think it's rad.

Unique Rare Retro Contemporary Wood & Etched Brass Coffee End Table - $155 (Springdale)

"Nice Condition
Very Unique Piece
Beautifully Etched Brass Table Top (Made In India)
Solid Wooden Base
Measurements: H19" x W29" "

-- What a weird mix.  Is that a Pearsall base?  With a Moroccan or Indian brass top?  I like it!  Though I would put a round glass top on it myself and save the brass for another day.

Chester sofa - $350 (Lowell)

"Chester leather sofa for sale. Some cat scratches but still in good condition.
Please call/text.
Can deliver if needed."

-- OK, first of all...it's a ChesterFIELD sofa!  That looks like real leather...I gotta say, I'm jealous of whoever gets this...so long as the cat scratches aren't that bad.

Vintage Metal Lawn Chairs (2) - $50 (Bentonville)

"2 very thick steel old folding lawn chairs. Someone repainted them white at some point. They were red. Very good condition. $ 50.00 each."

-- Hey look!  They're Russel Wright folding chairs!  Get 'em powder coated and they'll last longer that you!

Retro hanging lamp - $45 (Bentonville)

"Perfect cond't"

-- Straight out of the "Keepin' It Real" file!  How amazing would this look in a Vintage Modern foyer or dining room?

Contemporary Lamp with Marble Base - $50 (Fayetteville )

"Clean Contemporary Lamp with marble base. Silver metal. The arm is adjustable in length. $50 OBO MUST GO!"

--$50?  You're kidding me, right?  I can hardly believe this was still available when I spotted it.

Multi-use Kitchen/Hobby Table - $50 (Rogers)

"This is a custom-made table and it measures 36" x 47" x 30" high. The top is butcher block formica and the pedestal is heavy metal painted dark brown.

It is a heavy-duty table and is great for use as a sewing/hobby table and/or for meals. The second picture shows the butcher block pattern and it is selling for $50.00 cash."

-- That's a Burke table base!  Just find yourself a round Formica table top for it and you're back in Vintage Modern business.

COOL 80's END TABLE - $20 (bella vista)

"80's END TABLE 21" high $20"

-- I'd buy that in a heartbeat if I saw it at a thrift store.

Rustic Bench - $35 (Rogers)

"Rustic Bench , very unique"

-- I love the the "Live Edge" style of this.  Just add some short hairpin legs to make a great coffee table, bench or TV stand...throw a cowskin rug under it for added Rustic-icity!

  1. Cool stuff, MMT. The rug is definitely an (early I think) “80’s” design, colors and weave and I think the light fixture is as well. Like you said, the table is a weird mix and glass would look much better as the top; maybe a smoked or bronze color. That metal top that’s on it right now might look good on a wall. -midmichigan

  3. The rug looks like it could be a Shillcraft kit; my mother and I used to work on these in the 1970s (they are still in business at a smaller scale). They had an extensive catalog of traditional, country, and modern designs, with a color-coded canvas, bundles of precut yarn, and hooks. Designs were usually available in different sizes/costs, and you could, if you wished, custom order and substitute your own colors although the canvas was still printed with the defaults. I don't recognize this specific design, but it has the look and I see quite a few "Swedish/Danish rya rugs" advertised that I do recognize as kit patterns. They also had kits to fit accent pillows (you had to sew the back to the kit front) and I occasionally see those, too.
