Oh Yeah, After Picking Up the Eames Table but Before Hitting The Salv. Army on Thursday I Stopped by the St. Charles Antique Mall. Status: Let's Look Around!

I think this was priced at $125 but it's in great condition and you're not likely to find another like it any time soon!

So this is going to be one of those post without a lot of text, mostly because this

stuff ain't mine to talk about but also cuz I'm a little strapped for time and a picture

is worth a thousand words. So look around, enjoy and if you are in the

neighborhood...stop by and buy something cool!

Cool stuff, right? I'm sure that everyone could find something they'd love to take

home from this antique mall. It's a really big one.

  1. If I lived closer, that little turquoise settee would be in the back of my Jeep.

  2. Great stuff! I'm with Dana - if I lived in your area that turquoise settee would already be in my house!

  3. mr. Modtomic I need some advise! What do you think about $300 for a MCM wall unit/divider? It is 70 inches high, 60 inches wide and 16 inches deep. On the bottom there are three divided sections with doors. In the middle there is a pull down door/ desk like thing with cubbies beside it and on top there are two shelves of divided cubbies. Sorry for the poor description. I have never paid this much for anything so I am a little nervous. Any insight would be appreciated. It is on CL March 21 Large MCM Cabinet - $300. Thanks!

  4. Posting Anonymously cuz I ain't at home and can't remember my password.

Kate - It sounds like a solid buy. I don't know much about what companies made those type of wall units or who designed them. I know a local dealer here in St. Louis has one available that sounds a lot like what you described for $500. They know their stuff so I think that is about right for one in great condition. They can be had much cheaper, obviously, since the dealer is selling it for $500. I'm assuming you snatched it up since I can't find a listing for it on the Indy C-list.

  5. Thanks for your reply. Seller is holding it for me until I can pick it up. She took it off CL when I contacted her cause she had lots of replies in a short time. I have a picture but I don't know how to send it to you. I have never spent this much on one thing! I would like to think that I could get my money back if I decided not to keep it.

  6. great collection...atlanta is parched and we hardly find pieces which are decently priced...finding something worthwhile in a thrift or salvation store ..no way...:(

  7. Kate - Sounds like your money is safe. If there were a lot of interested buyers then you could easily sell it for what you paid for it if you are uncomfortable with your purchase. Sound to me like you snaked a bunch of other buyers and got a good deal. Just keep in mind that this is all just used furniture / ephemera and it is only "worth" what someone will pay for it.
