This American of Martinsville five drawer dresser looks so cool in Gloss Black with a Gloss White top. It was just a little too pricey at $75 for me to bring it home.
Top is After, Bottom is Before. It took me all day to get the two "old" sofas and bookcase out of here and the two "new" sofas and bookcase in. That bookcase barely made it through the door...and barely fits!
Yes my friends, that is an Eero Saarinen (designed the Gateway Arch!) executive chair by Knoll stuffed in there. It might be coming home with me tomorrow along with a half dozen of his buddies!
What could be More American than a Paint By Numbers Painting? OK, so maybe we aren't a nation of Do It Yourselfers Anymore, but it seems like we once were.
I bought this at Steve's Antiques over the summer. I had seen it there languishing in the back for quite a while and finally realized that it just needed to come home with me.
This Triptych set was found at Unique Thrift the other day. I kinda hemmed and hawed over their purchase. I just wasn't sure about them. I'm glad I bought them.
I usually stroll through the French Market in New Orleans just to do the "touristy" thing and maybe pick up a T-shirt or two, some sunglasses and a new wallet.
The Girlfriend not only collects Vintage Costume Jewelry, but also Melmac dishware. She has a Thing for old plastic. I'm not sure what that says about me.
I get e-mails from time to time asking how I'm able to put so many pictures in my ads when Craigslist only gives you the option for Four total pics. I'm happy as a clam to help anybody out I can. It really sucks seeing the same seller with 15 or 20 ads taking up half a page of a Search. I don't know if having all my stuff in just 2 ads is a selling advantage or not but it sure makes it easier on me! I DO know that having crisp clear Pics that the buyer can click on to see larger pics IS an advantage.
Sorry for the poor image quality. Bad lighting coupled with a camera phone equals, well...this. I assure you, besides the minor damage to this piece, the china cabinet is quite striking (as well as VERY reasonably priced!).
Today I received an inquiry about the Vitra Verner Panton "S" chairs that I have available on my Craigslist ads. I found these chairs a few weeks ago on Craigslist somewhat under priced. I usually wait a little longer than a month to re-list an item. What follows is why.
This is a Big Ol' snack bowl that I procured from the Big Bend Antique Mall. I got the cool blue and gold drink glasses behind it from the same place. Pretty cheap too.
Oooh, I do love to dig through a shop that is just packed full of all crazy whatnots! Bonus...it's in the French Quarter of New Orleans! When you've had enough you can walk across the street and get a Hurricane or a Bloody Mary!
This is all Russel Wright Iroquois Casual China. It was stuck inside a wooden fruit crate turned on it's side under a layer of dust in an under lit Junque shop in the French Quarter. Mr. Modtomic LOVES a challenge!
I absolutely LOVE this shop! I have to stop in at least once every time I make it to New Orleans. They have the coolest stuff you'll ever find. I wish I could take it all home with me...but then the whole house would look like the Garage!!!
