Jere (ish) Metal Wall Art? I Has It! Never Had Any Before But Found Lots Last Week. Status: Available Now!
Pretty, huh?! Could this make an attractive addition to YOUR living room, bedroom, uh den....bathroom...maybe?
If you squint, it's like you're right there in a French Cafe. Ok, so maybe it's not. It's
probably like looking at a fuzzy, out of focus piece of sculptural wall art. I spotted
the two larger pieces at the thrift store just down the street just as I was about to
leave empty handed. The third smaller one was picked up at a Goodwill in South
County about as far from home as I get when thrift store shopping.
Can you hear the Blacksmith making Horseshoes?
All were found the same weekend! Weird, right? Seem this is how it goes down
sometimes. Now that I think of it, most of my Russel Wright Stubenville was found
within the space of a month. This after never finding any at a price I found
reasonable.
"Sittin' on the dock of a bay..."
I've added these to my Craigslist ads if anybody is interested. I've recently been
relieved of quite a few items and am glad I had these ready to fill the void.

That first one would look great in the kitchen.

There's a MCM collector/dealer in Oklahoma City who has a TON of Jere (including Raindrops) hanging on the wall in his commercial metal shop gathering dust. I was drooling, but he says the really good stuff is at his house. Hey, if that was the bad stuff, I'm not too proud to settle.
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, I've been known to drive long distances to buy things I really want, but now that I'm one of those old retired grannies on a fixed income, I'd be more inclined to drive a long way for a steal than for an expensive piece. If you find a great sofa sleeper at a can't-pass-it-up price, let me know!
Ugh, I've been trying to get a birds in flight C. Jere for a while now. A buddy of mine has one that a co-worker of his sold him for like 30 bucks. Just makes me sick! There was one at an estate auction here in St. Louis that was held New Years Morning (!) earlier this year, but everything was going for such unreasonable prices (more than Ebay prices) that I ended up leaving before it was sold. What a disappointment THAT auction was.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep an eye out for a sofa for ya.
bob - Where Are You At?!?! No local C-list? Are you on the Moon? I have some serious sympathy for you. I'd go into some BAD withdrawal without my C-list!
