AhaHa! I Finally Dragged Out The Box Of Blue Heaven Dishes! Wasn't Really Sure What I Had. Status: Not Too Shaby!

Plakow! That's some nice collection of Blue Heaven (by Royal China) is it not? This pattern is not the easiest to put together here in the midwest. Dunno why. Seems like I can't walk out the front door without tripping over some more Salem Biscayne, but the Blue Heaven is about as hard to find as the Salem Northstar!

This has been slowly building for about two years. I found the first couple pieces at the St.

Charles Salvation Army thrift store. The check out lady says to me, "You like this? We get this

stuff in all the time...you should check back here once in a while." Done. Never found another

piece there! That's SO OK though, found plenty of other great things there. The very first item

I blogged about
was found there!

Except for the Three medium sized mixing bowls (which Mother Modtomic bought for me at the

St. Clair Antique Mall) the vast majority of this was found at the various Flea Markets around

the St. Louis area. Anybody know for sure what company made the milk glass baking dishes in

this pattern? None are marked except for their volume, i.e. 1.5 qt. I'm seeing Fireking around

the web. Anybody got some mugs to look at? Those would be marked "Fireking" on the bottom

wouldn't they? Also...what do the Tea Cups look like? I've got plenty of saucers but no tea

cups. Need to know what to look for.

  1. I know what you mean about supply in this part of the country. I rarely see any of this pattern. This is a very nice set, especially the bakeware pieces including custard cups.

  2. This is the only pattern I collect! I stumbled up a 28 peice lots of bowls, plates & saucers at a vintage shop for only $20! The teacups & accent peices are solid blue. I beleive that Fire King is the milk glass stuff.

  3. You can see the tea cups here: http://www.tias.com/1902/PictPage/1920843210.html -- just did a quick google. The creamer and sugar are also the blue and a nice simple shape...http://www.tias.com/6554/PictPage/3923157343.html

Also, I just picked up a 10" plate and a 10" x 13" oval platter if you're interested in adding them to your collection....they are both in excellent condition, with signs of very light use.

  5. Hello, I have quite a few pieces of blue heaven dishes but have been hesitant to use it because I'm not sure if it's ok to put in the dishwasher? Any thoughts about that? Thanks!
