Hey Looky!  This is the second Jens Risom desk I've come across lately.  This one is a little bit bigger than the previous piece.  It's more of an executive desk, but it isn't so huge that it becomes ungainly, like the double pedestal executive desk.  Not too small, not too big...just about right!

Man, I hate me some winter.  The cold just sucks the life outa' me.  Last winter wasn't bad and it hasn't been too bad this year, until January.  This is why Mom-tomic moved to New Orleans.

The Last Of The Halloween In New Orleans Booty. I Couldn't Resist This Pair Of Jerry Johnson Tubular Chrome Barstools That I Found On Craigslist...Even If They Didn't Come With The Original Pads. Status: Project? Available?

Super mod, right?  I love 'em.  If I didn't already have my dream barstools I'd have new cushions made and keep this set.  While yes, they are missing the original cushions, I'm pretty proud that they both have all four end caps on the legs.

See That Label? Means A Lot To Us, Right? Not So Much To Someone In New Orleans With A Couple Cans Of Paint And A Bright Idea. But Again, There Ain't Nothin' That Can't Be Saved, Right? Begs The Question: Should It Be "Saved"? Status: (Update) Already Gone.

Funny little story about this little Knoll stool: I spotted it many years ago in New Orleans at another shop at the far west end of Magazine Street.  I had hoped at the time that the seller would let it go for cheap since they obviously didn't have a clue of what it was.

What A Piece Of Crap! Who In Their Right Mind Would Not Only Pay Cash Money For This But Then Toss It In The Back Of Their Car And Bring It Home From New Orleans? This Guy! And No, I Wasn't Drunk On Hurricanes. Status: Project.

Too bad this flea is only once a month.  Actually, it's probably a good thing.  40 minutes each way to Wentzville is nothing to the round trip to northern Missouri.  Still have no idea why it's even where it is.  What's even up there?

The Nashville Flea Didn't Yield Too Much Loot, But Then It Did Seem To Be Just A Larger Version Of The Fleas We Have Here At Home. Still, If There ARE Any Nice Vintage Modern Items To Be Had, Such As This Pair Of Sonneman Table Lamps...Mr. M Is Gonna Find It! Status: Gone.

I just dropped off this beautiful pair of Robert Sonneman / Kovacs bubble table lamps at The Green Shag Market today.  Not something you expect to find at a flea market, but they look right at home in the booth!

I don't know why I'm so fascinated by glass body parts.  I've still got a pair of those glass heads floating around here somewhere.  I think it has something to do with reminding me of the many Ernest Trova sculptures peppering the St. Louis area.

The Girlfriend, Mom-tomic and I all made our way down to Oak Street in New Orleans to have dinner at Jacques Imo's but once again (third try) found it to be closed.  At least this time it was scheduled to open in about an hour.  In the interim we took the opportunity to troll through some of the nearby shops and that's where this bad boy was found!

On Our First Day Here In New Orleans This Trip We Took A Moment To Stop By MCM Furnishings On Oak Street. It's A Small Joint With A Big Heart In An Upcoming Neighborhood. Status: Perused.

You just gotta admire the entrepreneurial spirit of folks who have jumped right in and opened up a bricks and mortar...or frame and siding, as the case may be.  Mr. M has always been too cautious to give it a go (but also has it TOO good at Creve Coeur and The Shag!).   MCM Furnishings is a little off the beaten path but worth dropping by.

The lack of larger items for the time being is perhaps a blessing in disguise.  I really don't have room for anything but the most special finds right now, and my motto of striking while the iron is hot keeps me from passing on a lot of good stuff...so the joint is packed at the moment.

Yet another thrift / flea / yard sale haul.  Some of this is already available, some will be available and some is four us.  It's weird how I keep finding a few more bits and pieces from our 127 Corridor road trip.  It's the road trip that keeps on giving!

Hmmm....I Was Really Hoping That This Was A George Nakashima "Minguren" Coffee Table, But There Are A Few Details That Have Cooled My Jets. Still, Either Way It's A Killer Piece. Status: Unknown.

I saw this table pop up on the Kansas City craigslist a while back and got kinda wound up about it, but it being a three plus hour drive away...that was about it.  A little winding up.  Then it popped up again this morning at just the right time and the die was cast.  I contacted the seller and was on the highway.

Did I Say I Was Done With The 127 Corridor Sale? Sorry! I Almost Forgot About These Great Classroom Retractable North And South America Maps. OK, Now I'm Pretty Sure This Is It. Status: Available.

Remember these!  Do schools even use these retractable maps anymore?  I see these in a lot of posts on Apartment Therapy.  They make great art pieces and are just so bright and colorful, they'd look especially great in a stylish child's room or a nursery.

Even though...or perhaps because...this stuff was so hard to find, hunting for and through the myriad of pop flea markets and yard sales was great fun.  I wish I had taken more photos of the places we stopped and the stuff we saw, but alas...I'm in either photographer mode or buyer mode...and apparently, never the twain shall meet.
