127 This...127 That. Get Used To It! I Picked Up Plenty From The 127 Corridor Worlds Longest Yard Sale. Lots Of Smalls. Hey Look, Here's A Couple Now! Status: Tagged And In Booth 307.

Again, this is just a handful of the small items I picked up along highway 127 last weekend.  'Memba that I told ya that Sunday was a good day to get some sweet deals?  These were all late Saturday finds that I picked up from a guy who had pretty much thrown in the towel and was asking only ONE BUCK for anything he had.  How could I resist THAT!?

Just After Dropping Off The Other Car We Traded In (Tinkerbell - The Volvo Wagon) At The Dealership, We Took The New Bunny Straight To A Thrift Store To Calm Our Nerves, Where I Found This Neato Vintage Childs Telescope! Status: Far Seeing.

I was surprised to find that this little telescope kit actually worked when I assembled it for the photos!  It was daylight out so I couldn't see how it works on the Moon or anything, but I was able to see down the street pretty well.

I Don't Really Hunt For Vintage BMX, But When I Find A Good Bike It's Hard To Resist. The Wentzville Flea Offered Up This Jem Of A Late '70s Schwinn Mag Scrambler And The Cash Was Exchanged. Status: Available.

What was it when YOU were 8 years old?  For Mr. Modtomic it was the equipment surrounding the budding sport of BMX just up the street from my home being sold at Maplewood Bicycle.  Could I somehow manage to procure one of these machines at a suggested retail price of $119.95 in 1978?  No way.  It only took 36 years, but I finally fulfilled that 8 year old's starry eyed dream.

::Shrug:: I Don't Know....I Just Couldn't Leave It Behind! Is It A Paper Weight? Trench Art? A Vintage Toy? Maybe A Workshop Project? I Just Don't Know, But This Little WWI Tank Really Got Me. Status: Cute?

20140408_150205

Can "cute" be used to describe a little toy tank?  These things were the terror of World War One!  But c'mon...look at this little guy.  He ain't trying to hurt nobody!  I found him at the Goodwill and just had to bring him home.

Holy Crap! Remember These?! A Whole Heapin' Helpin' Of Childhood Nostalgia Flooded Me When I Found This Excellent Example Of A Radio Flyer Ride On At The Thrift Store Saturday Evening. Status: Available.

Doesn't everybody want their children to have (and more importantly...appreciate!) the same great toys we still cherish from our misspent youth (oh face it...we all know we wasted those first five or so years). Before the big consumer electronics dealers took over I bet that was eBay's bread and butter!

Just In Time For Christmas! Something To Utterly Confuse Your Children With...A Phonograph! Hmmm...Some Of You Might Just Be Young Enough To Have Never Blown The Dust Off A 12 Inch LP Yourself. Status: Available.

C'mon, you know you wanna give your kid this Fisher Price record player and have the most ironically cool gift under the tree this year!  You'd get to be all cool like the guys in High Fidelity and explain to your lucky lucky offspring how these fragile, delicate vinyl discs actually contain the most accurate audio representation of music...and then get the eye roll of the true keepers of the cool.

A Rocking Goat? Huh, Never Seen One Of These Before...You? Luckily That Cute Face Don't Eat Much! He's Just Hoping For A New Family Soon! Status: Soon To Be Available.

Nope, this little guy didn't come from the Wentzville flea as you might have guessed.  He was found languishing at the Goodwill thrift store!  We hit a couple of thrifts after we go to the fleas, especially if we don't find too many items at the flea.
