I really don't get out to all the great shops around town often enough. I haven't had a chance to stop by here since the very early days of the blog. One of the new items being sold are resurrected vintage pieces that have been repainted / re-imagined such as this black dresser with herringbone drawers. Nice. I wish I had the time and energy to get in on some of that action!

I finally gave in and removed the fabric backing / frame from this Witco art piece.  The backing was just too icky to use.  I've still got it so I can fix it up and put it all back together if later I decide too, but I'm digging the look without!

I almost forgot that we even have this lamp!  It's tucked away in the Girlfriends closet room and I never get to see it.  I'm going to have to find a less fantastic lamp to replace it so I can use this elsewhere.  It's just too great to never get to see.

The Ivey - Selkirk Modernism Auction Preview Part 2 - Previewier! Status: Gettin' The Itch To Go Yet?

I was just perusing the auction catalog and realized, what a coincidence...I'm breaking my blog post into three parts and the sale is broken into three parts!  Most of what I'm interested in seeing sell is in the first session on Saturday starting at 11am.  A lot of the art is going on the second session starting on Sunday at 11am. with the rest of the art selling on Monday at 11am.  By the way, are these bad boys sexy as all h*ll or what?

For years (yes really YEARS!) I've been trying to get to an Ivey - Selkirk Modernism auction. Not really to buy since I've always assumed everything will sell for much more than I'd ever hope for, but to just SEE this stuff and learn more about it and how an auction like this goes down. Truth is...I've always been intimidated by the whole deal.

Last Weekend's Much Anticipated Big Broyhill Brasilia Estate Sale. Status: Fail (well...sorta).

There have been some REALLY good sales here in the St. Louis area lately for those of us into the vintage modern aesthetic!  This one was listed on the net a few weeks ago with only a few pics of the Broyhill Brasilia collection that was to be available.  Right away I shot a note to Illuminate to make plans to attend.

People are always so surprised by what I can stuff in (and sometimes on) the Focus wagon.  I had hit an estate sale Saturday morning then just after I left, got a text from Illuminate about a great garage sale where I bought even more goodies.  While tying that booty to the top of Frank II we met a person who was going to have a garage sale soon and thought I might like to check out some items they were going to sell.  ::shrugg::  Ok!

Halloween Party Was A Success! Plenty Of Good People, Good Food And Good Drink. Good Thing I Gots Plenty Of Barware! Status: Well Stocked.

Thank GOD we have a spare bedroom...and laundry room...and some room in the garage...and under the bed, for all the Extra Barware!  One of these days I'll go through all of it and decide what stays and what goes.
