I was at The Green Shag a few days ago delivering something or another to my booth but somehow failed to bring the Real camera.  And then I saw this: a quite large Witco sailing ship art piece.  Pics were being taken...proper camera or no.

Someone thought it might be a good idea paint the wood and jute twine back a sad shade of brown.  ::Sigh::  Can the jute be saved?  Does it matter?  How much trouble would it be to re-wind the backrest?  Anybody ever restore an Umanoff jute wound chair or barstool?

Now Look At The Amazing Miracle My Buddy Dan Performed On This Broyhill Brasilia Dining Table. The Poor Thing Was A Mess And Now It's Beautiful! Status: Refinished And Ready To Go!

I've still got to find the pad set and the retrieve the three leaves from Dan as soon as he's done with the poly on them, but the Broyhill drop leaf extension table is officially available!  I've just managed to squeeze it into my booth at The Green Shag Market.  Can you believe it...I've doubled my space, and I've already hit the limit!

Snapped Up Another Scandinavian Rocker On My Way To The Green Shag Monday. I Couldn't Help Myself. It Popped Up On C-list Just As I Was Walking Out The Door. Status: Lack Of Self Control.

But, my lack of self control will soon be someone else's gain!  You see, someone else might have dropped by to pick this up if I hadn't but then realized that it's got some issues and passed on it, where as I was in such a hurry (on my way to The Shag to drop off Broyhill Brasilia drop leaf dining table, remember?) that I barely gave it a once over. Oops.

'Tis The Season. I've Been Trying Real Hard To Find Vintage Modern Christmas Items To Offer In My Booth But These Blow Molds Are About As Close As I've Come. Status: Merry Kitsch-mas!

While lamenting my inability to find and or identify vintage Christmas ephemera on Saturday at a local thrift, we turned a corner and came face to face with Santa and Frosty!  Just like that (::snaps fingers::)!  And while these might have been made later, they are marked 1968 AND Made in the USA.

Late Again. I'm Gonna Get Fired. Yesterday's Thrifty Finds. Picked Up Some Nice Vintage Goodies For Booth 5 GSM. Status: Better Late Than Never!

We went out for breakfast yesterday and came home with a couple sweet finds.  And some savory finds too.  Bowls, shaker bottles and a couple berry bowls.  Nice little haul.

A couple weeks ago, in the Tuscon episode of "Not My Turf" craigslist search, I found a leather sofa being proffered for $120.  I made it clear that if it weren't so far away that I'd have happily purchased it.  Then via Mr. Modtomic's super smart readership I found out it was from the dreaded IKEA and that it's called the Sater sofa.  Well guess what popped up on the StL. craigslist last night!

Another vendor has had quite a week of changes, much like myself and I thought that since I was in the neighborhood I'd snap a couple quick pics to let you in on them.  While I was re-arranging my space last weekend she and I had a discussion of booth arrangement and she told me about this great bedroom set she was about to spring on us.  Wanna check it out?

Mr. Modtomic At The Green Shag Market Booth 5. I've Nearly Got Things Sorted But Things Keep Disappearing! Status: Lil' Tour?

I've been steady bringing more and more items down to my booth space at The Green Shag Market but it seems like it just keeps disappearing!  Good thing too, I've got lots to replace the disappearing bits with. Just today I dropped off this little lot plus some.

After Rearranging My New Booth Space Saturday I Had Just Enough Time To Go Through A Couple Downtown Thrifts. Found More Silver Foliage Libbey and A Beautiful Syphon Selzer Bottle. Status: Silver And Glass And A Touch Of Class.

I spent so much of Saturday trying to fine tune Booth 5 at The Green Shag that I didn't leave much time to do my normal trap checking.  I did finally make it to the "new" Salvation Army thrift on Forest Park Pkwy and of course hit the Goodwill directly across the street.  I found a new trap and hit one other.  Sounds like a lot but it was a quick fix in my world!

Yesterday I Mentioned That I Picked Up More Than Those Amazing And Rare Salterini Leather Chairs And The Spider Table. I Also Managed To Find An Eames / Miller Shell Chair, A Warming Serving Cart And A Beautiful Royal Heager Ashtray. Status: Available!

I didn't manage to get the ashtray priced and placed in my new booth space (number 5 now) at The Green Shag Market but I did get the rest of these beautiful vintage modern goodies down to the shop.  Even after making a special effort to get up at the crack of 10am I still just barely managed to get these photos taken get everything cleaned up, loaded up and down to the antique mall in time to make it to work.  Whew!

Weekend Roadtrip Craigs-Snatchins! I Spotted The Maurizio Tempestini / Salterini Chairs Late Last Evening And Made Arrangements For Pickup. Drove Out Today And Found Lots Other Good Stuff Along The Way! Status: Score!

Wait, don't that look like some huge alien bug's face?  It's not, I assure you.  It is, in fact, my new acquisition of a super rare pair of Salterini iron and leather Maurizio Tempestini chairs and a fancy spider leg and brass tray occasional table!

Mr. Modtomic Bids Fond Farewell To Booth 44 And Moves On. I Gave It The Old "College" Try, I Really Did. It Was Just Time To Go. Status: Cleared It Out.

Yep, Booth 44 got cleaned out.  Sold everything.  Just kidding.  That would be crazy.  But I did empty the joint today.  And there will be a new vendor in here shortly.  I can't say that I won't look back on our time together without a little sentimental sadness.
