I Didn't Bring This Small Vladimir Kagan Microfiber Sofa Home From The Goodwill Saturday, But Obviously I Thought Long And Hard About It. Did I Make A Mistake By Leaving It Behind? Status: Hot Or Not?

I can't seem to find an exact match for this Kagan New York Collection small sofa or sectional part on the web so I can't really figure out if it's worth messing with or not. Anybody out there in readership land have any idea whether this was worth picking up or was leaving it there a better idea?

It wasn't in great shape but was certainly serviceable. There were obvious cat scratches

and some sort of wear mark on the back where I assume it had rubbed against a wall or

something. For a sofa worth a good chunk of change these are not deal breakers...but for

something not worthy of reupholstering...those spell "leave it be". I know that lots of Kagan

pieces (even contemporary pieces) can command very high prices, but without a

comparable I'm just not comfortable dropping $60 and having to find a place to store it.

So what would you have done? Would you have taken a chance on this? I guess what I'm

asking is: Hot or Not?

  1. I dig it, but I would have replaced the upholstery and the legs. I would have snatched it up for $60. Which Goodwill was this at?

    2. Anything Kagan is hot. Though its a newer version, finding one marked is difficult. You won't regret it.

  3. As cheap as it is, I'd think you'd be able to get your money back several times over, just on the Kagan name alone. Surely someone would pay at least $250-400 for it, have it recovered, and use it as a love seat.

    1. Hi Dana.

Well, you all talked me into it. I tooled back over to the Harvester Goodwill to see if it was still there. Nope. But I did pick up something else kinda cool!

So who nabbed it up then?

  4. It's beautiful. But, is it a sofa or part of a sectional?

    1. Hi Anony.

Pretty sure it was part of a sectional....but it's weird that there isn't another photo of another Kagan sofa like this on the web, right?
