Went Out This Afternoon Before Work To Buy A Cowhide Rug, Stopped By A Thrift And Picked Up An Old School Freestyle BMX Bike! Status: Spoken For!

Mr. Modtomic is an old school freestyler from way way back.  This Redline "One Thousand" model 20" bike is exactly the kind of bike I would have loved back in the day.  I'm always on the look out for these '90s classics and today I made a nice score!

She may, for all I know, now have more salt and pepper shakers than she does vintage costume jewelry.  It's hard to tell.  We don't have as good a way to display the S&P sets as she does the jewelry...but I know she's got lots!

Sunday's Visit To The Wentzville Flea Yeilded Some Interesting Results. Nothing Big Or Epic, But Some Pretty Cool Stuff None The Less. Status: Retro Smallsville!

The Wentzville flea has finally hit it's stride.  The last two Sundays have been well attended by the vendors which is a big 180 from the few couple weekends we had previously seen.  I still didn't find much, but I do find myself being a bit pickier these days.

I Finally Found A Use For This Neat Mid Century Welded Steel Stand And Was Going To Show It Yesterday, But I Decided To Give It A Shot Of Paint First. Status: All Prettied Up.

A LONG while back I remember setting a bowling ball in this stand and thinking that something that size...but not a bowling ball...would be about perfect for this stand. Well, when I have these little epiphanies I don't run right out and start looking for the mystery object. I let it marinate, and let the object find me. I know, so Zen.

Oh Lord, Mr. M Has Been Soooo Lazy! I Blame It On The Dog Days Of Summer. I've Had This Coffee Table In The Back Of The Girlfriend's New GTI For A Couple Days But Forgot All About It! Status: Project?

This lovely little boomerang leg coffee table showed up at the St. Charles Salvation Army last weekend and luckily I made a point of dropping by Saturday (I often forget that they aren't open on Sunday!).  When I spotted it I immediately thought of a project Hannah had just done.

Smalls Aren't Epic. ::Shrug:: You Find A Lot More Smalls Than Those Epic George Nelson Desks Or Paul McCobb Dining Sets. But It Really Is These Detail Items That Make A Retro Decorated Joint Legit. Status: 2/3 Available.

The salt and pepper set is actually the Girlfriends, but they were cool enough that I thought I should go ahead and feature them here too.  The other two items are both from the weekends thrifting adventures.

Up Near Glacier National Park (Where We Were Hoping To Drive The Road To The Sun) I Found A Small Sunburst At A Thrift Store. Then In Denver I Found It's Big Brother. Status: Roadtrip Finds.

What luck!  I had no idea I'd find a large sunburst just before heading home.  I only bought the small one at the thrift store just so I wouldn't come home empty handed.  And really, I only bought the big one because I bought the little one.  Weird, that.

Ugh, Posting Has Been A Little Spotty Lately...I Know. Work Schedule Has Been All Over The Place And I Wrenched My Back Last Weekend. But Anyway, I Picked Up This Neat Witco Caravel Ship That I Think Might Be The Niña. Status: More Witco.

I spotted this lot of Witco whatnot languishing away in a couple of boxes at a flea market while on our road trip vacation.  It took a few minutes to even figure out what the puzzle made...and another bit of negotiation to get it for a reasonable price.

I Don't Normally Tout Hotels Or Hotel Rooms Unless They Are Vintage Mom And Pop Places That Exceed Expectations...But This "Sleep Inn" Room In Provo Utah Just Floored Us. Status: Less Than $100 Before Taxes!

We booked this room from the road just using our "smart" phones.  Ain't it amazing what can be accomplished while driving these days?  They only had a couple rooms still available at this Sleep Inn in Provo Utah and we were lucky enough to snag this one...and for about $95!

Being out of town, I missed a couple three Sundays at the Wentzville Flea.  Craigslist has been kinda weak lately and I ain't had so much time to hit the thrifts...but I did manage to liberate all this from a couple of those.

I Don't Know What This Little Covered Bowl Is, But We Found It In A Little Second Hand Shop In Hot Springs South Dakota. What A Pretty Little Town That Is. Status: Mystery Find.

It was just so Mod looking that I couldn't leave it behind...even though I didn't know what it was or what it was used for!  Plus, there was a little surprise inside.

The Girlfriend Spotted This Last Week At The Local Goodwill And DIDN'T Pick It Up. Said She Wasn't Sure I'd Want It! This Chip Art Piece Is Amazing! What's Not To Want? Status: Soon To Be Available.

OK, at first I thought this was just supposed to be an abstract piece but upon further perusal I can see that it may be something more. I can see that there might be a "P" for Phi, an "A" for Alpha and an Omega symbol in that design. But I cannot find a Phi-Alpha-Omega organization on the web with a quick search. What do you think? It's hard to ignore those symbols once they have been pointed out, huh?
