I Guess Life Ain't SO Bad. I Did Manage To Rake In Some More Russel Wright Iroquois Recently. Status: I Know...Like I NEED More Russel Wright.
I hope nobody thought I was pissing and moaning about my weekend the last couple of days. I had a great weekend. Well, I napped through a lot of it, but hanging out Saturday morning with like minded crazies was pretty fun and I made some new and interesting acquaintances.

Epic Fail Weekend...Does The Fail Ever Stop?!?! Status: No Dice? No Big Deal.
I called. I called ahead. I had to work Sunday morning (ugh) and was downtown so when I got done I thought I'd finally go shoot some pics of this shop for the blog. I got their number from an ad they had on Craigslist and got their hours from the recording. Sunday - Noon to 5pm. Not...so...much.

Basement Booty From Saturday's Estate Fail. What $6.50 Can Get Ya. Status: C'mon, I Was Still Broke From LAST Weekend!
So yeah, I was sorta broke (not really BROKE broke, just no real cash on hand broke) but I wanted to hang out with my new estate sale buddy Illuminate and try to help her score a lamp she had set her little heart on.

I think I may have solved my "My Rocket Lamp Wants For An Appropriate Shade" problem! I was poking around the Garage, looking for a project to occupy my afternoon and one thing led to another.

Just A Quick Looky At A Pair Of Small Prints I've Made Available On My C-List Ad. Status: Available As Of Now!!!
What a great pair of Mod prints, no?! They have a vague "Asian" thing going on, don'tcha think? They're small enough to work in your hallway or even your bathroom.

What's Better Than A Swanky Swag Pull Down Saucer Lamp? Why, A PAIR Of Swanky Swag Pull Down Saucer Lamps! Status: Available (X 2!)
I picked up these lamps down in Memphis at the Antique Warehouse Mall antique mall. This set was one of the coolest things I found there. Finding a single one like these would have been pretty great...finding a matched pair was certainly a coup!

PJC Fine Melmac Dinnerware....Uhm....OK, You Do Know That You're Made Of Plastic Right? Status: Nice Decoration Though!
This set was procured at the roadside flea market in North Carolina. It was actually the first thing we found there! The Girlfriend was all consumed with some vintage costume jewelry when I spied out this set. It's still for her though. I know what's what.

Another Piece Of E. S. B. (Estate Sale Booty!) That I Only Just Got Around To Cleaning Up. This Is A Really Nice Danish Inspired Rocker By Baumritter. Status: Available And Rocking Out!
This is the absolute last piece that I dragged home from Saturday's estate sale. It was filthy. I spent all morning (before heading out to work!) cleaning it up to shoot pics. No wonder I'm so wiped out! These estate sale finds are killing me!

Gosh...Feels Like I JUST Posted A Few Hours Ago! I Guess I Kinda Did. More E. S. B. (Estate Sale Booty)! Status: Ugh...Mornings.
Could I have possibly missed this sale? No! There were three of these kitschy danish chairs (that look straight out of a 1960's Fingerhut catalog) featured in the sellers set of pictures. I was just worried about pricing. Turns out I needn't be.

T. F. A. (The Future Antiques) Has A New Location. And As We All Know...It's All About Location Location Location! Status: Sweet New Digs
Be prepared to be overwhelmed with Vintage Modern goodness as soon as you walk through the front (side really) door! The shop seems much larger than the old place on Morgan Ford yet just as packed. The good news is that the large items are more accessible and aren't all stacked on top of each other (yet)!

So Like, If I Ever Get Sick Of The Broyhill Brasilia (Relax...Not Anytime Soon) I've Got It Covered. Status: Waiting In The Garage.
I've had this Russel Wright / Conant Ball dining set for a very long time. It was set up here in the pad when we first moved in before we found and started collecting the Brasilia. If I ever come across a brilliant set of china cabinet and buffet to go with it I might just pull it out again!

Getting up early on the weekend is just such torture! What's the big deal about starting at the crack of dawn? Actually, this sale started at 9am. I'm the crazy one, out there at dawn...angling to be first in line for that sofa.

Just got this beautifully reupholstered arm chair over the weekend. Got up super early for an estate sale Saturday and this somehow made it's way into the back of the wagon. Then I talked to the Mom and found that she's letting go of that beautiful sofa. Is it not a match made in heaven?

More Random Retro Roadtrip Imagery. Signs, Windmills, Marquees, Whatnot. Status: Just Sharin'.
Just one of the many cool vintage roadside signs that still dot the landscape of America's two lane blacktops. This one is in Florence SC on the way to Myrtle Beach. I fear it won't be there long as the property is for sale. Gotta shoot these things while we can!

Found Hanging Out In A Rural Roadside Flea Market, F D B Mobler / Folke Palsson Dining Chairs. Status: Not Too Shabby, Considering!
Yeah, I pulled these from a hot dusty little "shop" in Fosters Flea Market. They didn't have a tag on them so I offered twenty bucks for the pair. The guy manning the shop (not the actual shop keep) tried to call the actual seller but couldn't get through. He finally countered with $25 but all I had was $23. So $23 put them in the back of Frank Jr.

While I Was Shooting Outside Over The Weekend I Thought I'd Knock Out A Few Pics Of These Vintage Polaroids. Status: Kinda Rough
I picked these two SX 70 Polaroid cameras at two different roadside flea markets in North Carolina while on vacation. I know they aren't in great shape but I've seen some cool SX 70s that have been "redecorated".

Too Much Of A Good Thing? Yup. Time To Thin The Herd! Selling Some Russel Wright. Status: Available.
This lot and 7 dinner plates were taking up much needed space in the china cabinet. They aren't the best of the best but are a nice lot to either get started collecting Russel Wright or maybe you can use some of the pieces to help complete your existing set.

Sigh...Still Daydreaming About Vacation. Anybody Ever Heard Of The Pink Motel? Status: More Vintage Motel Goodness.
We discovered this place quite by accident a few years ago. We were driving to the east coast without a destination in mind, taking random east bound two lane blacktop roads when we passed through Cherokee North Carolina. There are lots of little towns like this all through the Smoky Mountains so it was just pure luck that we found this place!

I Opened The Door...Spotted This Table...Turned Around To Get The Camera Out Of The Car. Status: Lucky Find!
Yeah, we totally lucked into finding the Antique Warehouse Mall in Memphis TN. We were just winding up our vacation and accidentally drove through Memphis. The Girlfriend had talked me into staying overnight in the area and while we were absorbing the last of cable TV we'd be enjoying for a while when I found this place on the internet.

Another Sunbeam Automatic Toaster Discovered At The Thrift Store! Status: Slim And Trim!
I'm thinking that this was the last gasp for Sunbeams Amazing automatic self lowering / raising system. It's such an ingenious system that seems to hold up over time...why don't they still make it? I have 50 plus year old Sunbeams that still work like new! Until just a few days ago I had no idea that they had stretched out it's use this long.
