The plan was to get some grub and then jet over to St. Charles to finish up cleaning out the shop.  But then the Girlfriend suggested we hit a couple local thrifts.  While there I remembered an ad I had seen about a week ago for a pair of glass heads.  I made the call and plans changed!

I LOVE Blue Heaven by Royal China.  I've got my own little stash of this packed away in a box (or two!) somewhere around here.  If you look hard, you'll see this pattern in Marie Barone's kitchen on reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond .

Not in booth 195 for even a whole month and I'm already preparing to move to another.  Ah, but this is my Dream Booth!  Well, almost...I do wish it had more visibility to the antique mall general population.

I spotted this little beauty the first day I started moving stuff into MY booth (#195) at the Creve Coure Antique Mall. If I didn't already have one I woulda snatched it right up, right then. I have mine right next to my head on my night stand and use the light, on low, as a night light.

I spotted this cool looking fiber art piece rolled up and tucked away in the back of Booth 40 - Creve Coeur Antique Mall. My curiosity got the best of me so I went ahead and opened it up to see what it was. Nice! Not over the top as some of these '70s creations can be.

First thing's first, this is not mine to sell.  It's in a booth (196) near mine at The Antique Mall of Creve Coeur.  But I was just so excited to see it in the mall today that I just had to feature it here.  These don't pop up around here all that often.  They might not be the most practical chairs in the world but they sure are pretty.

Years ago I picked up a pair of Hans Wegner folding chair knockoffs and quickly found them a new home.  I tried to love them...even taking them with us to the drive in theater, but it just never happened.  Picking up this single makes me wonder if maybe it was that those were a pair.

Finding good stuff on craigslist around the holidays is kinda tough. I'm just about sick of looking at the same stuff getting "bumped" up the list over and over here at home! It's probably a good thing though as I'm trying to be good right now and NOT buy every little deal I spot!

C'mon, you know you wanna give your kid this Fisher Price record player and have the most ironically cool gift under the tree this year!  You'd get to be all cool like the guys in High Fidelity and explain to your lucky lucky offspring how these fragile, delicate vinyl discs actually contain the most accurate audio representation of music...and then get the eye roll of the true keepers of the cool.

After getting a late start today, I tried to deliver some more items to the new booth at the Creve Coeur Antique Mall.  See, what happen was...I've been trying to get the items I've got at the shop in St. Charles packed up, stuffed in Frank and over to the new booth space.  I got Two out of Three today.

Once out of the house this afternoon we made hay while the making was good.  We dropped by The Green Shag Market to drop off some information (propaganda?) concerning the Mr. Modtomic Holiday Gift Registry in the booth.  While there I wanted to check on Jeff's booth progress.  "Progress" being the key word!

MCM in the Room - Kartell Componibili

Hi Modtometrists!  CT from Living Analog here.  It's been a little while -- the Living Analog abode has relocated from St. Louis to Phoenix and things have been hectic to say the least.  Now that we're moved and have the magical interwebs plugged back in, it's time to get back to MCM in the Room!  Before my little offline spell, I had found images of the BKF Butterfly Chair, Eames LCW and Panton "S" Chair in situ for your viewing enjoyment.  I thought I'd take a break from chairs for a while (but don't worry, not  forever - there's so many to love!) and showcase something different.  This week, I give you the Kartell Componibili - the storage unit for every MCM room!

The Kartell Componibili was designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri in the 1960s.  Also known by their production numbers "4970/84" (or 59.166667 as Google so helpfully did the math for me when I did a search for the item, thanks Google.).  Castelli Ferrieri, like so many of the furniture designers we know and love, was an architect.  She designed Kartell's headquarters, married the owner and went on to become the company's Design Director.  Not bad for a day's work. (Joke).

Seems like just yesterday I was pontificating upon the beginnings of setting up shop in an antique mall...wait, it WAS just yesterday! Little did I know that I'd be shooting pics of my Own new empty booth space today. Life IS funny that way...or at least it THINKS it is.

My friend Jeff has been trying to get his foot in the door at The Shag for seems like ages.  I've really been rooting for him too as it means there'll be another vendor of fine vintage modern furnishing in the shop...and that can't hurt at all!

I haven't been finding too much on the StL. craigslist lately and a quick look through a number of other cities has left me wanting.  Thankfully, Portland Oregon came through with plenty of lovely bargains to show ya!

At First I Was Hesitant To Purchase This Rug Because McDuff The Fluff Can Make Such A Mess Of Such Things, But The Girlfriend Suggested I Could Easily Flip It In The Booth. After Shooting These Pics Though, I Think I'll Be Keeping It...Silly Cat Or Not. Status: Keeper.

Love that cat to death, but boy can he make a mess. That fat boy yacks on everything. Well, everything at floor level. At least he ain't yacking on the furniture...yet. So dropping a pretty shag rug in front of his mug might not be the best idea, but we're gonna try it out and see what happens.

I JUST Found The All Christmas Music Radio Station And Now I Got The Perfect Boombox For The Season! This Red '80s Magnavox Boombox Was Waiting For Me At The Goodwill Yesterday. Works Like A Charm. Status: Available.
