Brick Street Antique Gallery...So Good I Had To Spread It Over Two Postings! Status: Whatcha' Waitin' For?!
I probably should have listed some sort of contact info yesterday but I was just too tired to remember. Check out an info page here. The address, hours and phone number are there if you are in need. The shop also has a Facebook page if you are into that.

Do NOT Let The "Antique-y" Exterior Fool You, This Joint Gots The Good Stuff. Status: Local? Not So Much...but worth the drive!
This antique mall, Brick Street Gallery Antiques, is located in downtown Cape Girardeau (jer-are-doe). We stopped in to check out Cape's "antique district" on our way back from New Orleans last week. I didn't expect much as I consider Cape Girardeau to be...how can I say this...out in the sticks. The crossroads of nuthin' and nowhere. I kinda grew up there. Boy was I surprised!

Wait...What The...Didn't I Already Post Danish Stacking Tables? Yep! But They Live In New Orleans Now. Status: Another Set and Available!
I picked these up at the same time I bought the Ib Kofod Larsen chair I featured yesterday. I over paid a little for these but sometimes you do that. No big deal seeing as I underpaid for the chair. It all comes out in the wash.

Selig / Larsen Discovery. Spotted This Vintage Modern Chair "Hidden" in a Craigslist Ad Last Week. Status: Needs A Lil' Freshenin' Up.
Not a bad C-list find, right? It was just described as a vintage chair and was included in an ad with three other items. I had seen one before on someone else's Flickr page, but I didn't know what it was. After doing a little research and due diligence, I realized it was designed by Ib Kofod Larsen and made by Selig (Blatant Mis-attribution! - Turns out it's actually a Viscount Chair by Dan Johnson!)

New Orleans Vintage Shop Crush. Lil' Place Called Peaches on Magazine Street. Status: This Long Distance Thing Just Won't Work Out.
This little shop on Magazine Street was a little rough around the edges but definitely had the goods where it counts. If you happen to get down to the Big Easy you might wanna stop by and check it out.

More Awesome Coolness at the Salvation Army in St. Charles. The Wild Print Sofa Was Gone But There Was Plenty To Replace It. Status: Fast Becoming THE Thrift Score Shop?
Dang, there was a lot of cool furniture at the St. Charles Salvation Army this afternoon! We stopped by since we were in the neighborhood picking up project supplies at a place called Leftovers, Etc. for the Girlfriends work. It's a neat place for all you crafty folks! Anyway, check out the cool stuff that found it's way to the Salv. Army.

So Friday I Picked Up That Awesome Adrian Pearsall Chair Before Work, But Thursday I Managed to Grab This Herman Miller Eames Table Before Work! Status: Losing Sleep Rocks!
I know, it's not as outrageous as the Pearsall chair yesterday, but it's a good solid find. These dining tables never go out of style! This is what I picked up before I stopped by the Salv. Army thrift store and picked up the new set of Franciscan the other day. Hey, I've got the perfect set of chairs to go with it...if anybody's interested!

This is What Was In The Back of Frank (the wagon) Yesterday. I Picked It Up Before Work So I Had To Take The Pics While On Break! Status: Oh The Lengths I Go To Share!
Wow, Right? I think I pissed off another potential buyer who was waiting at the sellers place when I arrived. I assume they were hoping I wouldn't show or I'd pass on buying the chair. Not A Chance! As a matter of fact, I paid double the asking price!

It's Not For Everybody and Not All Of It Really Fits The Vintage Modern Aesthetic, But I DO Love Some Of It! Status: No Room In The China Cab!
You know, I do have another Brasilia china cabinet top (hutch?) out in the garage that I have attached hairpin legs to (too tall though, gotta put my shorter ones on it). I could put it on this buffet since it's identical to the other that has the china cabinet top on it. Wouldn't that be weird? But then I'd have more room for all my china!

While I have absolutely no need for another six Broyhill Brasilia chairs (my set is in really good shape), I'd have loved to get that table. I have a similar table except it's more of a rectangle than a square. I've never seen this size table before.

It Was Soooo Warm And Sunny Yesterday That I Thought For Sure I'd Be Grilling Out Today. Status: Bbbbbrrrrrrrrr, It Got Cold Out Again!
Oh what a tease. The weather can be a cruel mistress. Warm on Friday (when everybody else was off at work!) and Saturday (I at least had that day off!) but right back to cold and cloudy Sunday. As a matter of fact, it just started snowing. Yuck. No BBQ today.

Had To Make a Little Trip To St. Chuck This Morning to Pick Up This Wonderful Oak Danish Lounge Sofa and Chair. Status: All Cleaned up and Ready For a New Home!
This was a hot mess when I picked it up this morning at a storage unit the seller was clearing out (so they could move to Australia! How lucky!). 50 years of dust and cob webs were swept away this beautiful afternoon under a wonderful sunny warm sky.
Edit! Gone as of 03-28-11.

Did Some "Shopping" Thursday...Took Some Pictures. Status: Didn't Bring Much Home.
Wow, that's a pretty cool subway poster! And Huge! And Josephine Baker is a St. Louis native! You'd have to have some pretty tall ceilings to display this. This and a number of other cool items were at the Treasure Aisle antique mall Thursday. I also found a couple of cool items at the Goodwill on N. Lindbergh that you might like.

Grabbed Up Some Goodies This Afternoon Down The Street at the Thrift Stores. Wood, Metal and Glass! Status: Amazing Condition!
I had to get my Thrift Fix today so the Girlfriend and I went out to check the traps. Didn't find anything HUGE but I found a few useful vintage items. Most of the stores (we hit the six closest to home) seem to be thin on inventory. Weird. I can't think of a reason why this might be. Coincidence I guess. I hope.

Ugh...so tired. Just Got Home From Work. Overtime Sucks and so does this Post...a little anyway. Status: Recent Random Acquisitions.
Brought this home a few weeks ago...the desk that is...not Don. Don sold me the desk and was kind enough to pose for a photo next to it in the freezing cold of winter! Lord only knows what was going through his head at this moment. You know, you try to explain your blog to people sometimes and it's like talking about the funny thing your cat did the other day. Nobody Really wants to listen to that. Blogs are for reading and lookin' at the pretty pics...not for explaining. Anyway, there's more inside.

I FINALLY Found the (Nearly) Perfect Chest For The End Of The Bed! Thank You C-List! Status: Well, It's At The End Of The Bed...But Still Empty.
Since the Brasilia footboard I have is a Full size (I've never seen a Queen size Brasilia footboard!) we've never had anything at the end of our bed. Then there are these big metal mounting tabs on the end of the rails that we keep bumping into with our shins. Something was needed.
Edit / Note: Ah Ha! It's from the "Projection" line by Drexel! Apparently designed by John Van Koert.

Hey Er'body, It's "Before & After" Time! This Time With a Quick Table Top Refinish on That Cool Unidentified Side Table. Status: Couple Sunday Hours Well Spent.
Before. Sad water ringed and stained up top.
This is what the top looked like before Sunday, which was another one of those weird weather days. Got up to 65 degrees, then a Huge storm came through from about 8pm to midnight with hail, high winds and some tornadoes. Then the temp. dipped down to about 35.
