So right now I've just gotten here and am waiting on my estate sale buddy - Illuminate - to show up. She overslept...but so did I. I was just closer to the sale address than she! I'll post more about how the day goes later.

Check out the sweet teak, danish vanity seat.  That is purdy.  This must have just come in to the mall because it wasn't present last Sunday when I was messing around there.  I'm down at The Green Shag about twice a week...actually at least Once a week but almost always more, and I always try to make at least a quick run through the place to see what's new.  This time I actually brought the camera and shot you some pics!

First let me say this about the Toronto craigslist: It's everything I think that the St. Louis craigslist will become if we should ever be "blessed" with an IKEA. Eeeee-Gaaads. You know how you can search C-List with key words? IKEA makes me wish there was a way to sort OUT listings with key words!

Teak, Steel And Glass. No No...I'm Not Speaking Of Some Modernist Home In The Sunny Southern Californian Desert. Just The Local Thrifts And The Thrifts Yield Much! Status: Smallsville.

So I know it looks like I've really been killing at the thrifts lately.  I guess I have.  But hey, that booth space down at The Green Shag Market isn't going to keep itself filled with all vintage modern goodness!

So...Looks Like I'm Collecting Libbey Silver Foliage Glassware. And I Found A Handkerchief Vase That I Thought Looked A Little Like An Alvar Aalto Piece. Not So Much But I Did Figure Out What It Is! Status: No Mystery Here.

Over this last weekend I found six more Libbey frosted Tom Collins glasses in the Silver Foliage pattern and this fantastic green frost / painted handkerchief style vase.  The Libbey glassware is no mystery but I really didn't have much of an idea about the vase other than I felt like I'd seen the style before.

Awe Snap. I Thought For Sure I Had Just Found The Stand For My Ashtray. Actually, I Did. Status: Still...No Dice.

I thought I had hit the (relative) jackpot at the Goodwill over the weekend in finally finding a magazine stand for my matching ashtray! Well, fate has a funny sense of humor, it does.

Not So Much A Mystery As Much As A Conundrum. I Kinda Know What They Are...But Are They Worth Picking Up? Status: Left Behind...But Not Forgotten.

While I was out running around yesterday I fell upon these fine china sandwich size plates. At first I found just four and began furiously looking for any other pieces to the set. Unfortunately I didn't find any dining plates or serving pieces...but I did find 20 more of the sandwich plates. Are you wondering why I'm even bothering with these plates yet? Look inside.

While I was dropping off a table to get a little freshening up at a buddies place (more on the results later) I was offered yet another super mod plant stand.  Do I have need of another super mod plant stand...or a plant stand of any type, for real?  Nope.  But, as is often the case, it was offered at such price as that I could not refuse.  It was cheap...and I love these whether I can use them or not.

It's Been A Little While Since We Last Took A Little Look At The Booth Space. It's Gotten A Little Crowded And I'm Just About To Re-Arrange. If You See Something Ya Like Act Quick! Status: Due For A Change.

Yeah, the word "chaos" comes to mind. Funny thing though, I managed to shoe horn the pair of gold vinyl Eames / Miller Aluminum Group chairs in here after the Parking Lot Sale and they sold within two days! ::Shrugg:: Go figure!

Yup, Mr. Modtomic is always on the hunt for more smalls to line the few shelves I have in my booth at the Green Shag.  It's not like I'm running dry or anything but things do disappear from time to time and those items need to be replaced.  It's good to have some stock in the "back room".

Picked Up Another Sweet Score On Sunday Evening. This Time It's A Franco Albini Rattan Foot Stool. Status: Keeper / Flipper?

Ever notice, so many vintage modern furniture designers are also architects?  The first I ever heard of such a thing was Frank Lloyd Wright.  He seemed to have a penchant for designing furnishings explicitly for a particular home design.  Seems kind of rigid but I can respect the idealism.  Franco Albini ('05 - '77) was an architect as well, though perhaps not as well know.  This "Pouf" may be his most well known work.

Other Recent Long Weekend Thrifty Thrift Finds. So Many Great Smalls. Making Up For The Dry Spell Not Too Long Ago. Status: Raining / Pouring!

The craziness here is all the Ice Buckets I've been finding lately!  I've got maybe 10 or even as much as a dozen now.  Some are more interesting than others and some are in better condition than others.  This one is a great style but has condition issues.  I'll be dropping it off at the Green Shag Market in my booth (44) soon as is but it could be done up nice with some polishing.

Alrighty. Here's Some Much Better Pics Of The 1940s Enamel Top Draw Leaf Table And A Couple Of Ladder Back Chairs I Paired Up With It! Status: Available!

After picking up this table over in St. Charles I stopped at the thrifts closer to home and found a pair of nice vintage ladder back chairs that seemed like they'd match up nicely with it, so I got them as well.  Then I found a pair of pads that seemed made for the chairs!

I Know...I Said I'd Feature The Thrift Table From Yesterday's Thrift Haul, But It Seemed A Little Silly To Show That Two Days In A Row. So Here's Some Mod Candle Holders To "Hold" You Over! Status: Available!

This trio of wall mount candle sconces were found at the same thrift but the matched set pair were found a week before the middle starburst single!  How weird is that?  At first I was a little irate that I could only find the single starburst but when I got home and remembered the matched pair and realized how great it would go with them, my OCD issue was solved.  I also found some cool cast iron pieces.  Click through to check 'em out!
