Another Interesting Item That's Been Hanging Around The List. Status: Slavic Modern?

This Wegner style rocker has been on C-list for quite some time. I've even shot an E-mail off about it myself.

I offered $95 for it about a year ago and was turned down, but if you are interested in taking a stab at acquiring it here's the link!

  1. Umm where do you think they got late 1800s from. It's interesting in folky way. For $95 to keep would be ok I guess but I'd wait it out a little longer, especially if you plan to flip it.

    1. Sorry to continue but that add has me pissed that people don't do some research before posting adds. They seriously think late 1800s wtf, I think there's a dog turd in my backyard older than that chair.

    2. Hi David. Here's the same chair on eBay. I'm not sure where the c-list seller got her info. Late 1800s? Beats me!

    3. That's funny I saw the same add and was going attach.

  2. Man, I thought that this was my little secret! I've sent these guys an email every so often and they won't budge on price. They also INSIST that it is from the late 1800's. Not sure when they got that from. Yugoslavia wasn't even a country then.

    1. Hi Nick. Really...c'mon! How could I NOT know about that chair! I actually found one very similar at the Goodwill on Olive near U-city a few years back. Sold in to a buddy in New Orleans.

  3. Hey Mr. M. What's up with the Saarinen chair listed as a "Charles Eames upholstered chair". I tried to buy it when the exact listing was posted last year and got no reply. Also, do you think the gondola sofa at Scott AFB is a Pearsall? I've seen it attributed to him, but the legs just seem too common in a chunky way.

    1. Hi Anony. I saw that Saarinen chair too, but I've got 6 of 'em sitting around here already! I almost shot them a note to let them know of their attribution error but ::shrugg:: can't help everybody. Plus, anybody who knows who Charles Eames is will know who designed that chair. As for the Gondola Sofa / Pearsall design question...Maybe, Maybe not.

  4. I saw one like this at the thrift for super cheap - like $10-20 a while back. I almost bought it but part of the seat needed reworked and I wasn't in the mood to deal with it. It sat there for a fair amount of time but when I finally decided to pull the trigger it was gone.

  5. I had that EXACT rocking chair that I got in the early 80s at Pier One Imports. I bought it for the "baby room" when my son was born in 1984.

    2. Hi Jeanne. There is something to be said for asking a premium for good designs that, while maybe are not Vintage in age, are no longer in production and readily available. I'm sure in the not too distant future (if not so already) there will be highly sought after discontinued Ikea stuff commanding ridiculous prices. But as far as the late 1800s is concerned....yup, crazy!

    3. Yes, I meant crazy about the late 1800s, not the price. I sorta wish I kept that chair. It WAS comfy.

  6. I just bought one of these, a little over a week ago, for around $100 at a local thrift store.
